I was wondering what kind of background is needed for securities law in terms of undergraduate study? Does it matter or is it irrelvent?

If you attend a school in california (for instance USC, UCLA, etc) or on the east coast (cornell, etc) and you want to get a job in chicago, does the fact that you studied at a school in a different area discourage potential employers? Does it make it more difficult to get interviews? Does this limit you to some degree to the general area in which you attended law school?
Thanks for your replies.
