General board for soon-to-be 1Ls / over-enrolled first year sections mean... ?

i am going to the u of illinois in the fall.  the dean of admissions, grant keener, sent a letter to all of the applicants reminding them of the option to defer for a year because they had overadmitted the class.  talking with people at the college of law, i know that they have 306 deposits for 225 seats.  i know that some people will not attend despite paying the deposit, but i am concerned by the fact that the admissions office sent a letter basically seeking deferral candidates.

what are the implications that i should be aware of if attending a school that overenrolls its first year class?

what are the best schools for landing judicial clerships?  i was just looking over washington and lee's employment numbers and they seem like they are geared toward this.  are any other schools this way?  thanks.

i am confused as to whether the application for financial aid begins or ends with the fafsa.  i know my need, and i know i need the 18,500 plus some in loans.  what do i need to do?

Law School Applications / best summer/semester abroad programs?

does anybody know which schools are known for their summer or semester abroad programs?  i would love the opportunity to study in Japan one semester.  i know that Temple offers such a program, and that the university of illinois is starting one next year.  any other information would be appreciated.   thanks.

Law School Applications / opinions on bargaining for money

i have been accepted to the university of illinois, and i recently wrote them an e-mail comparing my financial aid from illinois with several other schools.  at first, i had a $5000 scholarship per year to illinois, but they have now given me $7500.  would it be too much of a stretch (ie, unreasonable) for me to attempt to receive more money?  any opinions would be appreciated.  thanks in advance.
