General Board / Law review is taking up too much time!

I am worried that my grades will suffer b/c I am spending so much time working on law review.  This week has been filled with writing an intro and outline for my note and cite checking, as will next week. 

I haven't even started outlining yet.  Is it worth it to be on law review if my grades take a nose dive?

Here's another question: Can I quit law review, or is like being in a gang?

General Board / Law students and anxiety disorders

I recently attended a mediation class though my school's health center to help me manage stress.  When I signed up, the woman who took my registration said that it was no wonder I was signing up for a class like that & that tons of law students have anxiety problems. I thought depression was the "lawyer disease."  Anyone know anything about this?  I can admit that I certainly worry more about stupid crap than I did before law school. 

What about you all?  Do you worry more about minor things now?

Studying and Exam Taking / Books to help with Brief Writing?

Hi there....the legal writing program at my school (like everyone else's) sucks.  I could really use some help with writing my trial level brief this semester.  Are there any good books out there on this?  I happen to have drawn a tough grader (again) and need to do well to make up for an average grade last semester.

1L job search / So, how did the job search go 1L's?

1L job search / I got the public interest job I wanted!

I thought I would put a different perspective on the 1L job hunt.  I ONLY applied to public interest jobs, and got a really fantastic one.  While making tons of money this summer would be nice, I didn't want to sit in a back office exclusively doing research and writing memos all summer.  I went to law school to pursue a public interest career. Though 40% of my classmates wrote personal statements about wanting to do the same, most are now scrambling to get big firm jobs for the summer.  It's kind of hypocritical to me, but to each his own.

Anyway, I got the job through what essentially is a public interest "OCI" process.  Though I didn't get granted an official interview with this organization (I was an "alternate"), I talked my way into meeting with them by handing the interviewer my resume after they were done with the other candidates.  I was offered the position the next afternoon (on Sunday!). 

I am thrilled that I am going to be making a difference this summer, even if it is only for $4,000 in grant money.  :)

General Board / Who else is dying to see their grades?

I know that my school gets grades out late, but I am already checking at least once a day, and it's only the beginning of January!  Anyone else just going nuts waiting to find out?

Studying and Exam Taking / Am I doomed if I am starting outlining today?

I had the flu for 2 weeks and then took the past 2 to get caught up on what I missed.  As a result, I am just starting outlining today.  Classes end next week and my first final is 12/12.  Am I totally screwed?  Any advice?

Case Western Reserve / Money from Case?

If you all can let me know when you were accepted and how much money you got, that would really help me.  I haven't heard yet and want to gauge my chances of some scholarship cash.

Also, if anyone who already attends knows whether I can get more cash after 1L if I do well, please speak up.
