I'm thinking of getting this book but wanted to hear what people thought about it.

General Board / Where can I buy LEEWS at?
« on: May 02, 2005, 12:10:56 PM »
Is online (www.leews.com, www.ebay.com and www.amazon.com) the only places?

Do the law book stores carry them?

For all you people currently in law school, looking back what would you say was a waste of you money on?

Was there something (law preview, leews or anything) that you thought particularly didn't help?

General Board / Has anyone used Mavis Beacon typing software?
« on: April 24, 2005, 01:00:30 PM »
A while back, someone recommended that learning to type faster would be the best thing to learn to do during your summer.

I've heard quite a bit about this program called Mavis Beacon. Has anyone else used it too?

Is this the only thing you would advise I get? Any other learning to type software programs out there?

And what version/edition do you recommend?

Thanks,

For people who do not like public speaking (like myself) yet still want to get into litigation and are nervous about the whole speaking in front of crowds (like myself)- do you recommend a course like ToastMaster's or something along those lines?

Thanks all!

General Board / What is the best way for me to balance my time?
« on: April 04, 2005, 11:48:18 PM »
Hello everyone,

First I want to say that I love this board & find everyone extremely helpful!

This is the problem I'm currently facing.

I have to re-take the LSAT (in either June or Oct but I think Oct would suit me) because I did horrible the first time through.

*I work in the hospitality industry so my hours are from about 4pm-3am.
*I am finishing up my undergrad with 1 class left. This class ends in Aug/Sep.
*I also excercise (I'm obsessed) everyday or at least try to because it is my stress reliever.
*I'd like to take that Logic course I posted about here sometime in the summer so it can prepare me for the October exam.
*I find that I am usually tired and can hardly devote any time to studying for the LSAT.

My questions to you are:

1)  Should I cut down work? If so, how much?
2)  I have a very difficult time managing all these things.  Can it be done?
3)  How much should I devote to the LSAT everyday?

Thanks and I hope I'm not missing anything here.

General Board / Should I take an Logic course? Yes or No?
« on: March 27, 2005, 11:04:24 PM »
Well I'm re-taking the LSAT (for all of you who didn't know) and am highly considering this June or maybe..... October.  Not sure yet!

I took a prep course which I didn't find that useful.  I'm considering taking an Intro to Logic course.  Has anyone taken one and did you find it worthwhile?
What do you think? Should I take one?  OR should I just learn logic on my own?

General Board / I have a silly question...

One thing people have recommended is to learn to be a better/faster typer.  Besides just practicing everyday, what else can one do?

General Board / Did anyone take Kaplan?

Did anyone take Kaplan's online course or class? If so, can I have your thoughts on it?

Thanks?

General Board / Advice for re-taking the LSAT the second time?
« on: March 13, 2005, 08:27:46 PM »
I thought about posting on the pre-law side but the advice here always seems better!;-)
Can I ask what would you all of done differently? if in fact you would of done some differently for the LSAT?

I'm hoping to make this second go around my last & final time.

Appreciate your advice and thoughts!:-)
