As we move further into July, we’re continuing to closely monitor the wait list situation at Georgetown University Law Center.  In our effort to share as much information with you as possible, I’m writing today to let you know that Georgetown is not yet able to extend new offers of admission to those on the wait list. 

At this point, we anticipate that we will have to wait until after our fall semester tuition payment deadline of July 25 in order to have a better sense of whether additional spaces in the class are likely to open up.  Because it takes several days after this type of deadline for us to follow up with any individuals from whom we have not heard, we should have further information for you on July 28. 

While we hope that you are able to continue to be patient with our wait list process, we also understand that this delay may mean that you need to go forward with your enrollment plans elsewhere.  If there are any changes in your law school enrollment plans or summer contact information, I’d appreciate your letting us know.

I, too, was placed on the shortened summer waiting list today.

Penn was my #1 too.  Was this the letter you received??  Was wondering if it is the form letter, or if paragraph 3 might be personalized.

Thank you for your interest in the University of Pennsylvania Law School and for your patience over the past few months as a waitlisted candidate.  Regrettably, I must inform you that we are not able to offer you admission to the 2005 entering class.

As I am sure you are aware, it was an extremely competitive year for admission to Penn.  We received a record number of applications for the 250 seats in our class and we offered admission to only twelve percent of our 6,400 applicants. 

I realize that this may be a disappointment to you: however, given the strength of your candidacy, I am sure that you have many other opportunities.  If you have made plans for this academic year, you may wish to consider applying to Penn next year as a transfer applicant. 

I wish you much success in your future endeavors.

SAME letter

I am also choosing Emory over Vanderbilt due to geographical preference and the fact that I am 100% sure I will like it there (I attended both admitted student days). Also, I received my 2nd biggest scholarship out of all my schools I was admitted to from Emory, so I don't know why everyone is saying their fin. aid is terrible. I'm very happy with my situation. I would call Dean Cadray and tell her that you are in at Vanderbilt but will def. go to Emory if they admit you, then follow up with a faxed letter to the admissions committee so they put something in your file. G'luck
