This is an old forum that was made by and for accepted UMN students to meet each other before school starts and trade info.  May be useful:

This is an amusing thread and I thank all who have participated!

I am in agreement with MrRooney.  There is nothing wrong with law schools judging your interesting, especially if people keep decisions open even when they enroll somewhere else which is probably greater of the two evils.

We are also assuming they waitlist (looking for interest) only for yield protect.  Every seat they offer to someone who may not be interested they cannot offer to someone who is actually interested like aut-6 and brownsfan05.

The discussion should be why the OP has kept his application so long when he knows he is not going there.  When we get into summer associateships, you'll find that NALP forbids this kind of behavior.

Admittedly as a splitter I was curiuos if I would get into some of the schools I applied to, but withdrew from them as soon as I knew I wasn't going to go there.

Also, the application fee pay for them to review your app. and eventually they will give a decision.

Always interesting to hear everyones opinions!  I wonder if general discussions will be like this in law school?  I always get booed when I argue like this with non-law people. ;D

This site is not too bad for those who want to volunteer:

Actually, it seems most places do.  They call it a "volunteer vaction"

It is to cover cost of room/board and administration.  For most places, I can see it, but some are just blantant rip offs.  Something like, help Giant Sea Turtles and go scuba diving and kayaking for 2 weeks for $5000.

Anyone have any good ideas?  I've seen volunteer oppurtunities, but they all charge (??) a hefty fee for just a few weeks.  I am currently a working professional and would like some sort of break inbetween.

My tastes are a little less philosophical, but not in the relm of "made for TV thrillers" either.

Financial Aid / Very basic FA question

So just to verify, but other than filling out the FAFSA (indicating the targeted schools) and fill out the Need Access for the schools who require it, there are no other forms to fill out?

Paranoia is setting in..

Wait, I thought putting the school on the FAFSA would send the application to them.  There is another application?

What is the proper thing to do?  Email, snail mail, fax?
