General board for soon-to-be 1Ls / Re: CLS class of 2009

I'm not a Mac person, but I'm getting a macbook because my sister's ibook is being replaced under warranty and she doesn't need a laptop anymore. I read on maclawstudents.org that Examsoft, the company that produces Softest, approved running it in Bootcamp. Hopefully Columbia will approve it as well. I don't want to borrow a PC for exams. :P

I got my private loans through Citibank. They send your pre-approved application to CLS directly.
For Stafford / private loans through AccessGroup, you have to print out your MPN and mail the hard copy to CLS.

You can activate your email account even if CLS hasn't told you what it is yet. Someone posted instructions on the CLS bulletin board. And once you have your CLS email, you can join the CLS 2009 facebook group (because we need another website to interact on ;)).

I want to settle down in San Francisco eventually, though I wouldn't mind living in several other places for a few years each, or staying in NYC longer. Does anyone know how that works with the bar exam? One of the crazy attys at my office was talking about taking the bar exam in one state and the flying to another state to take it there. That way, you would be licenses for two states forever, as long as you keep paying dues. Do people actually do this?

I'm going to Europe for a couple weeks, quitting my job, then bumming around for a month or so. :)

Have any of you guys created a profile on the CLS bulletin board yet?  Check out some of the photos.  There are some seriously vain people in our future class.  LOL!

Shouldn't be too hard to figure out who I am.   ;)

hmm... I hope I'm not one of the vain ones. ;) though i was the first author profile. ha. :P
