Law School Admissions / Re: Most competitive student bodies?
« on: May 04, 2005, 04:08:05 PM »
hey guys- Why can't we all just get along? I mean, this thread is totally anxiety-producing, dont you agree? It seems to me you ought to just go to whatever law school you want and do your best and that's that. Why does everyone have to be so f$#%ing psycho? It sounds like the vast majority of people here dont even agree on curves and which schools are harder or really on anything, so can't you all just live with the fact that maybe you're not going to know how hard law school is until you get there and actually try? My advice is that if you are so freaking nervous about not getting good grades and not doing well and competition and what-not, perhaps A) you need to get some self-esteem B) you ought to re-consider going to law school or C)go to a law school where the majority of students have lower LSATs and GPAs than you... Maybe I sound naive to some of you, but many of you sound overly obsessive to me...Chill out

Hi Staresky (im not sure i spelled that right, sorry!) I am def going to Cardozo and am soo excited...I would have written this message back to just you but wasnt sure how to-oops! I found my place really super easily through a broker (if you want a good place in manhattan and dont have any great connections you almost have to go this route)'s expensive, but worth it...I just told the lady where I wanted to be (east village) and how much I was willing to pay (1250-1300 tops) and she did all of the looking...I took the first apartment she showed's fully renovated...cute, studio...Im in a serious relationship as well (i see you're engaged) and I know my boyfriend will be moving to NYC soon so i just wanted my own place and to not have to deal with roommates...I went through can find them online...they are a huge brokerage firm and work with students all the can try and negotiate on the broker fees...i got her to go from 15 to 13% of the year's it's a lot..i just figure it's worth it in the long run considering how much you will end up spending...If you want more info you should def look at my's for cardozo students...mainly future 1Ls...people are from all over and all diff schools...from me at Wash U in St Louis to UC Berkeley to GW to UT Austin etc, etc...I would recommend asking any further questions you have about the school and whether or not to go by posting on the blog...I am totally excited to be in the East Village, NYC and going to Cardozo...Ive been in love with the school since i visited last year! Sorry everyone else for writing so much!!!  It wont happen again! you can also email me at or IM at katinametz...Cheer! :-*

Im going to Cardozo-Yeshiva and got a studio in the east village on 7th between C and D...It was a bit of a walk to school (next to NYU law) but not too bad...Do any of you know, are there a lot of students that live in that area? Im from St dont really know...I would agree though that, if you can get your hands on the loan money or whatever, living in Manhattan is better - at least for your first year- though either way, NYC is amazing, right? ;D

hahahahahahaha dude, you're kinda nuts! maybe you'd fit into NYC better than you think!

Well , so much for me trying to shed some light on st louis...How annoying that any little negative thing i say is dismissed as me hating the city...Didn't I mention great things about the place? Oh well, i tried...

Hey guys...there's a blog that i started for anyone at cardozo, thinking about cardozo, interested in cardozo, that hates cardozo, that has any opinion at all about cardozo, that goes to cardozo, went to cardozo, is going to start at cardozo...the site is the following

Good luck everyone!!!

Dude, Im glad for you and for everyone else at Tulane...As I said, I PERSONALLY was seriously considering going VERY MUCH SO...However, anyone with half of a brain that looks at this website will notice that there is a hell of a lot of dominance by Tulane students writing about their school and so, therefore, I think perhaps it is in the interest of diversity and whatnot to point out that Tulane is great but not necesarilly fabulous for everyone...Im not trying to make you not be proud about Tulane, Im trying to let potential law students see that it's not the only option...i mean, it's really odd how many people have been writing about Tulane...this must be a really pop website for their students...
