i visited nelson, bc a few weeks ago. at the soccerfields near the lakefront, there is a sign that warns "loud noises are emmitted from time to time by the city of nelson to scare away the geese"

I am thinking of practicing law in Canada, but I fear the metric system. When I drive down the highway and see 100 km/h signs, I hit the gas to go 100 mph and get pulled over every time. When I see that gas is 89 cents a "litre," I get excited and start filling up the tank, and then realize something is not right.

I think UNLV is a pretty up and coming school due to the rapid growth of the area and the new facilities. I've been accepted there and think it would be a good choice, however my main hang up has been with the real estate market. My wife and I are looking to buy a starter home in the area and we are having little luck finding anything decent(900-1000 sq ft,2 bdrm 1 bath home) under 200K. Supposedly people line up to buy new houses and even bid above the builder's base price. Another poster mentioned that they are thinking of buying a starter home and going to UNLV, but I question where they will find one and for how much. Anyone else who has applied there and looking at homes seen this?

I've heard a lot of lawyer jokes already, even though I haven't even started law school yet. I can't wait to hear more when I actually have a job as an attorney. When people find out I'm going to law school, I hear either "oh I know such and such, he/she is a lawyer and he hates it" or "oh I know such and such, he/she is a lawyer and is also filthy rich." People ask me what type of law I am going into and I say "I don't know yet." They then proceed to tell me not to be one of those "bad lawyers that represent rapists and murderers in court." Other pre-law school college students I know yearn to know my LSAT score. They then tell me how they will study really hard for the test and go to a top 20 school. I talk to them a few weeks later, and they've decided to get an MBA or a degree in accounting. So has anyone heard from any law schools yet?

I love opening the mailbox, seeing an envelope placed face down inside, taking it out, and then turning it over to find...a credit card offer. I say enjoy the suspense while it lasts. After this short span of four months waiting to hear a reply, it will be back to normal mail mode- dreading the bills and occasionally getting a nice suprise. That is until you take the bar and the mail suspense will return...

By being a champion of bigotry. Most schools offer scholarships for racist beliefs and acts of non-tolerance these days. Just write four paragraphs detailing your ignorance, along with some letters of reccomendation from the local klan wizard. By the way, I'm just kidding.
