General board for soon-to-be 1Ls / Re: Can lawyers be outsourced?
« on: June 28, 2005, 02:26:11 PM »
already said--illegal immigrants.

it's not like those jobs afford much security anyway--what's stopping any old joe from getting a job as a mover? nothing. construction at least requires some kind of trade skill, but even those are easily acquired (my friend just got a job building log cabins for rich bastards--and he's never built homes before.) sure, he makes good money (25dlrs an hr with no prior experience), but the work busts his ass and probably shortens his lifespan.

1.  illegal immigrants are not outsourcing.
2.  nobody ever said they were good jobs.
3.  the minute you get hurt you're just out of luck.
4.  women need not apply.

Hmm I didn't know I had to make a case.  I wasn't sure if I was going to finish my masters or not, but I decided to stick it out and deferred for a year.

if you don't want to be outsourced then get a job doing manual labor.  That's the one thing they can't outsource.

I deferred for a year, so there should be a spot opening up hopefully.  I did this a while though, so the moment may have passed.

I mentioned Harvey Birdman as my inspiration.

i slept with all of mine.

I would have applied to more than one law school.  Although I think it is still the best match for me, I'm not sure if trying for a better school would have been a good idea.

I guess I don't know many careers where 40 hours is the norm anyway.  60 hours seems like the average work week to me now.

Law School Rankings / Re: Iowa and BYU really that good??
« on: April 18, 2005, 09:00:50 PM »
You sure you're not talking about Iowa State? ;)

But seriously,  Iowa pales in comparison to how good ISU looks.  Also you'd have to be a Hawkeye.

Interesting.  I've never heard anyone say that ISU looks better the UI, except my parents, but there alumn so they don't count.

ISU is frequently ranked in the top 10 for most aestheticlly pleasing campuses or something like that.  The guy that designed Central Park designed ISU's central campus.  It's also completely seperate from the city.  But then again I haven't seen much of Iowa.
