For 1L's, your classes are already picked for you in the spring, so they should just put something in your student mailbox and then you just have to sign it and turn it into the records office. Its not too big of a deal. After that. registering for classes is a nightmare for 2nd and 3rd year. There is a lottery system which doesn't work very well and if you don't get the classes that you want, you have to line up starting at like 6 in the morning on days where you can add or drop classes. You cannot even register online yet, they appreantly don't have that technology yet and said at the earliest they may get it in Spring 2007

San Diego kind of has a mix of nice sit down restaurants and the little small mom and pop taquerias and stuff like that. Old Town San Diego, which is only a few minutes away from USD, has a bunch of sit down places that are really good. Some of them are also really crowded, on weekends there are huge lines for them and the waits are sometimes an hour plus. But its a really cool place to walk around, very authentic. That I think is the best place to get the sit down Mexican food, but there also some nice places downtown or in the beaches area as well. If you have any other SD questions, i went to college at UCSD and will being going to USD as well so let me know. See ya in the fall

So How was everyone's registration day? What section is everyone in? I am in section B, just finished spending 550 bucks on books. My schedule is nice though, no classes before 10 and only 1 class on Friday's. Wow, I cannot believe it is finally about to start. Is everyone going to the orientation evening events?

Damn, that is crazy how last minute the roommate list is. If its another week before it comes out, that is less than a month before orientation. I got nervous about waiting on the list, so i just signed a lease for a studio down in Mission Beach, right across the street from the beach. i got a killer deal, 750 dollars and a month to month lease. Now everything is really starting to set in for me, its getting so close. My lease actually starts in a week and a half but I dont think im moving down till the first week in August. What about the rest of you, when are you coming down? We still need to plan that LSD happy hour as well. My suggestion is Old Town San Diego for a margarita. Oh and I went with Access for my loans

Im in that debate right now too, whether to live by myself or to find a roommate. im kinda leaning toward living alone too, ive talked to several people who have finished law school and they reccoemended that, a place where you can go to to escape law school for a while, instaed of going home to a roommate whio is freaking out about everything too. And its definitely a crapshoot living with someone you don't know, you don't need all that drama if things go bad along with law school stress. My only deal is its pretty pricey to live alone, but I think im going to start making some calls in the next week or so, i have already seen some places open up for early august

Hi janey, I will be attending USD next year. Just wanted to let you know, if you do end up going to USD, there is a thread going on on all USD issues, including housing and how USD dropped the ball on the roommate list. I am looking for housing now too, I would suggest craigslist, sdreader.com, the san diego union tribune website, and the usd off campus housing bulletin board, those are sites that i have been looking at every day

Yeah, thats a good price for that place in Del MAr, and its a really nice area, but i dont want to live that far either. I have heard that the traffic around the freeways merging there has become nightmarish, everyone I know who lives down there complains about it. I have seen some decent deals on craigslist on sdreader.com, but I am just worried that most of the good deals will get snatched up as all the college students move into town. What part of SD are u planning on moving too, dave? If anyone is interested in a roommate for an area close to campus, Im looking to spend up to 800 bucks a month per person on rent, PM me, I would like to have a place secured within the next few weeks

So what is everyone who hasn't found housing yet planning on doing and when are you moving to SD? I am planning on moving at the end of July or first few days of August but i am a little worried that the roommate list is going to be too last minute, since i assume it won't be out until at least july 20th or so if we don't have to return the questionaire till July 8th.

I called last week about the availability of the on campus apartments, and they said that there are so many people on the waiting list that they aren't even taking names anymore
