First of all, let me say that the posts so far in this thread have been fantastic. What's the bumper sticker I see all the time..."I wasn't born in the South, but I got here as fast as I could."
However, I do think that one who sees the many virtues of the most beautiful place on earth and properly appreciates it might one day be able to call themselves a Southerner...eventually. LOL
I will be at Ole Miss in the fall...if I don't get accepted by Georgia which seems less likely with each passing day. I spent a semester at Ole Miss as an undergrad. Not only is the campus beautiful, but so is the town of Oxford. I loved it there, and I'm sure you will too. It's full of Southern charm and it's got a pretty cool counterculture for such a small town. It's literary, artsy and musical. It's equally traditional and progressive. It's unique and I love it.
Welcome and congrats!!
