I am really glad we have the CALI lessons. I like them because they are broken down in relatively short lessons that give you constant feedback with lots of questions and answers throughout the lesson. They are focused on one specific area, so you get an in-depth chance look at a single topic.

I've been trying to use them (if available) to prepare for class or to review a topic after class.

Plus, it's free - nothing lost by giving them a try.

Out of 17 applications I only had two that required a dean's certification. I imagine it would be safer to use the law school's preferred form - they may have some different requirements that what your UG provides.

Look at the non-trad board for a similar discussion on this topic. My classes don't start for two weeks, so I can't answer your questions based on first-hand knowledge. I also decided between FT and PT, and chose FT because it would allow me to completely focus on school and still give me sometime to see my children during the evening. PT school would also require me to work full-time, leaving no time to see family.

I don't think it's at all crazy to do full-time with kids - if I thought it was crazy I wouldn't even be making the attempt. You know your own strengths and capabilities, just do the research as your are applying for schools. Talk to the admissions people - ask if there are many families in the law school, you'll either get the "blank stare" or something like "oh yea, we have tons of families!" or else will give you examples of other parents, single or otherwise. That was a big clue for me.

While visiting classes this spring I noticed all kinds of attire. Jeans, shorts, t-shirts, tank tops. I saw 1 or 2 suits, but I believe those were probably 2L or 3Ls preparing for interviews. It ranged from business casual/khakis to very casual in the classroom. Hope this helps!

The Stafford loan should be the first loan you get. Hasn't Santa Clara sent you an award letter or info about the loan process? Unless you have a Federal student loan in default, you will probably be able to get a Stafford. Then you get private loans to cover the difference between the Stafford ($18.5k) and whatever your annual budget is.
