3.66/160 (not top 5 choice)- Case Western w/ 10K, UT Knoxville, Akron full ride, from TN, no WVU Scholarship

That's me. I was waiting to hear about my wife's applications for doctoral programs in history at the same schools. I'm actually going to be attending WVU.  :)

We're all going crazy from the schools we haven't heard from yet. Are you still leaning towards UTK?

Just checked my mail and...nothing. I faxed a letter to the Dean asking for his assistance.

Acceptances, Denials, and Waitlists / Seat Deposit Nightmare
« on: March 23, 2005, 11:17:21 PM »
WVU has the most complicated seat deposit procedure:
1. Fill out and send in a Supplementary Law School Application.
2. Invoice is issued and sent to applicant.
3. Send payment with invoice, all by April 11.

I live overseas. I was accepted on 3/1 and I haven't yet received the supplementary application. I've tried to contact the admissions office with very little success. When I first heard about the procedure, I wrote and asked them if there could be any shortcuts (i.e. sending items electronically, faxing, credit card payment, etc.) and they responded by telling me none of those options were possible. With mail taking 2-3 weeks to reach me from the U.S,  I don't see how I can meet an April 11 deadline with four transatlantic postal journeys. I really want to go to WVU. The last few days, panic has set in and I've tried e-mailing and calling. E-mails have gone unanswered and when I call, I only get an answering machine (I have left messages).

Those of you who have been admitted to WVU - Have you received the Supplementary Application you need to fill out in order to get the invoice to pay the seat deposit? Could you scan it and send to me??

Any other advice or ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Choosing the Right Law School / Re: New Mexico

I applied back in December. I sent an e-mail in late January requesting confimation that my file was complete. They wrote back that they'd let me know if they needed anything. I sent another e-mail two weeks ago and received no reply. I noticed on that they started issuing decisions last week. I fear that I won't know in time to make my final decision (I have some April 1st scholarship acceptance deadlines).

The University of Memphis requested my LSDAS file on 1/6, received it on 1/12, and posted the acceptance on their online status check on 1/13. :o I received an e-mail a day or two later.

I'm still waiting on 5 others... :-[

Law School Admissions / Re: Finishing Applications While Overseas

I've also gone through the whole process overseas. No problems until recently. Some schools have sent decision letters to my permanent address in the U.S. while others have sent to my overseas address. Some letters have taken 4 weeks to get here and some have never shown up. Now that it's coming down to the wire it's making me crazy. :'(

I received my financial aid award letter from UTK on Saturday. It was exclusively loans. Does this mean I have no chance for scholarship $$$?
