Wait List / Re: NYU waitlist
« on: June 22, 2005, 01:01:20 PM »
If you have a friend in NYC, call JD Admissions and have them change your address to C/O your friend. At least then your friend can call you the day after NYU issues the letter. I did that two days ago--little did I know my rejection was already on its way!

that's a good idea, I think i might do that once my boyfriend finishes changing apts (he lives in manhattan)

did i mention this whole process sucks? (except for the parts where we get admitted and offerred scholarships... that part is good)

Wait List / Re: NYU waitlist

I sent in two letters of continued interest, and my rejection letter was dated June 15 (I live on the west coast so it took a while getting here). Don't cry; there's still hope!

damn it... my mail is also coming in to the west coast (parents address).....if i can make it through this and next week i think i'll be allright... darn it, it's not looking good though! (you and i have identical nrs)

It has come to my attention that Columbia's dean has begun to call applicants on the "Reserve" list recently in an effort to gauge their respective interest in attending the school.  (A good friend of mine just received that call.)  I am not sure if that means that they are about to unleash a wave of favorable decisions, but I just thought I'd mention it to everyone.

would you go to columbia if they accepted you off the waitlist?

I certainly would!  NYU is a great school, and I'd certainly be happy there, but I have dreamed of Columbia for some time.  What about you?

And I am keeping my fingers tightly crossed that you DO get into columbia so that another spot will open up at NYU and hopefully they will take ME off the waitlist  ;D

as of right now i'm still choosing between Fordham and Georgetown.... I keep going back and forth, Fordham = average chances at good career + wonderful chances at happy future with my boyfriend
Gtown = wonderful chances at good career + average chances atfuture happy future wiht my boyfriend...

I'm comparing apples and oranges and it sucks....

nyu would perfectly solve all my problems..... so... I hope you get into columbia!!!! :)

I found out I got in off the waitlist last night.  Big envelope.  3.61/172.

Now I'm very confused.  I had promised myself I would go to UVa regardless.  But NYU is tempting...  I'd get to stay a little closer to my life as I know it.  It's just so damn expensive.

....I think you should stick w/ your initial promise and give the rest of us a shot at nyu  :)  jk

What are your numbers Sones83?

I heard on xo that NYU's waitlist moved in enda may last year. I think I can hold my breath till then.

I noticed on XO that they even started having movement of the waitlist even earlier, like around now.... but the people that came off had really high lsat scores

Wait List / Re: G-town waitlisters

I have been away for a few days and haven't had a chance to check out this thread, so forgive me if I bring you all back to old topics.

I received an email yesterday from GULC saying there were no openings right now, but after their June 1st seat deposit they would forward along any new information. Did everyone that got an email receive the same one? (I think it is the third at this point)

filialuna...congrats!

You have some great options. Was your email along the same lines as mine?

Did anyone else respond to the email yet and hear anything?

Lots of questions I know, but I was so anxious to have this matter behind me after this week...but...I suppose that is why they call it the WAIT list.

Hahahha, yeah, i didnt even read the email just replied, yes interested, please KIT
Yes, interesting, they dont have spots, but they are letting off the waitlist... and thank you for the congratulations... with some reluctance, (due to personal reasons I really really really want to be in NYC), I think i'll be taking it
