wow, you really are gentleman.
that word harsh and unkind. how about "cool" points?
And don't worry about (possibly tangential) rants, personally I tend to find them pretty useful and interesting.
I posted yesterday about my debate between a 3rd tier and 1st tier school. Now I'm wondering, is it easier to do well at a 3rd tier school? how much easier? I would assume that it would be, though I don't know by how much....
It is unlikely that either will be easy, but if you go to a T1 at least you won't attend a third tier toilet.
I have heard more of the left calling Bush backers stupid than I have heard the right calling Bush haters stupid.
You clearly dont hang out with enough conservatives (granted, that's hardly a *bad* thing.)
Why can an intelligent adult not think that "Bush is the worst president ever"?Second, I'd like to think that as intelligent adults we could all get over the "Bush is the worst president ever" BS.
In response to Operatke,
You totally shouldn't have to defend your major. I know people poo-poo it, but I have a friend who was in the music school at Michigan in vocal performance (or voice performance as I think they call it at UofM). She was unbelievably talented and worked hard -- and she still had to take the same distrubution requirements as everybody else at Michigan.
And theater? I used to think it was easy until I took a class at Michigan... let's just say that I should become a lawyer instead. I think there are some people who have more talent in acting than me, but I realized that it takes more than talent -- well trained actors amaze me now. Being a good actor is very much like learning to play a musical instument well (one of the few arts that I've practiced) or becoming an excellent writer.
