Current Law Students / Maryland Bar Exam - Character Interview?
« on: March 26, 2007, 12:27:54 PM »
Hi guys,

I was just wondering if anyone around here had done the Maryland Bar - and if so, what happens during the "Character Interview" ? What kinds of questions do they ask, and how long does it last?  Thanks!!

Choosing the Right Law School / Re: F*ck NeedAccess and Profile

i still don't have any of my tax info, nor does my mom, so i'm waiting. i won't get mine until the last week of january, as usual. so the first weekend of february has been officially dubbed "weekend of the fafsa and profile" - clever name huh? :)

haha it's just my icon.. it shows up with every post. my head is tilted because it's from holding the camera up above my head. does it matter...?

and i was just clarifying because i thought you were missing my point. i will graciously exit your thread now ;) continue on.

there's no list that says: "this is the job every lawyer would want to have. clearly, since the majority of the people on this list did not go to a top ranked school, ranking doesn't matter."

If you have a better list then post it. If you don't, would you mind not addressing posts to me? I get nothing of value from your responses.

i don't agree with your point, and i don't think a list like you're wanting exists. your logic is inherently flawed. people have different desires from the law field - not everyone is looking for extreme prestige, not everyone is looking for a lot of money, not everyone is looking to save the world - you can't just say "the best graduates are going to want such and such a job."

but sure if you don't want to hear that, we can stop the conversation now :)

Says the people who hired them over HYSCCN candidates. These Judges are nominated by the President of the United States and confirmed by the United States Congress.

so are all the judges in federal courts.  i guess it just seems like a stupid example to me. *shrugs* not everyone wants to work in the federal court system, so i don't think you can be like "man look, not all these people are t-14 and these are DREAM JOBS HERE PEOPLE!! so it must not matter!"

Well, these are very prestigious and highly sought after positions. They're dream jobs. There are thousands of HYSCCN who would have loved these positions, but who were not as good as the sub T-14 people who got them.

says who? you?

Acceptances, Denials, and Waitlists / Re: WTF - Waitlisted at GW!
« on: January 22, 2005, 09:48:58 AM »
i'm sorry to hear that guys :( i remember people thinking i was being ridiculous for being worried about getting into gw, and i had almost the same numbers as some of you who were waitlisted. goes to show it's never a sure shot i guess.  :-\

hopefully you guys will/have already gotten in places you really want to go anyway! :)

uh but like more than half those people you listed DID go to a T-14. i don't really think that's the best example of what you're saying :)
