Law School Discussion

Hey guys, my crim law exam is tomorrow.  I'm just trying to clear something up.  Are there situations where you can aid and abet a crime but not be liable under conspiracy?  The professor asked the question in class when we were discussing it, but we never resolved it.  Its clear that it can work the other way, but I can't think of a way that there would be aiding and abetting without an agreement to engage in a criminal enterprise as well?

For what its worth to you in last years USNews rankings Temple and Villanova were tied at #60 I believe.  Now Temple is #59 and Villanova is #68.  My final decision was Temple after narrowing it down to 3 PA options in Penn State Dickinson, Temple and Villanova.  Temple's cost was a big consideration( I get in-state) plus I realized that it would be silly to bother with Penn State when I would want to practice in southeastern PA anyway. 

Buildings are largely irrelevant to me although Temple's building seemed lacking in windows when I was there.  Villanova's new building is supposed to be a modern version of the existing building I believe with essentially the same layout.  The current building had a very 50's high school feel.  I think either school is a good option for law school and you really can't go wrong.  I'll echo what others have said and point out that the rankings difference is pretty much irrelevant and cost should be the largest factor in making your decision.

I'll be attending Temple starting in August and honestly I was sold on every aspect of the school.  The only issue I ever had with it was its location.  My understanding is that most people commute to the law school from various areas around the city.  I currently live in the suburbs and plan on taking regional rail every day.  The rail line drops you off right on campus.  In addition, if you have to stay a little later at night apparently the campus is lit up like it's Vegas.

It is true that the area around the campus is pretty rough and Philly's crime problem has been garnering significant negative press for the past few years, but overall I don't believe it's a huge issue for attending law school there. 

Otherwise Temple is probably the best school in the city besides Penn, but they like to send a lot of their grads to the north and south of us.  I have a family friend who told me that Temple's alumni network is very strong and that Temple alum hire their own a lot of the time which if true to any extent will give you a leg up on your job hunt.  Anyways I am rambling a bit, but I am a self-admitted quasi-cityphobe and location is not a huge issue to me anymore although I admit it was a consideration for me when deciding on school.

Hey everyone

As an incoming 1L I was hoping to find out how good the summer opportunities are at Temple.   Does anyone have any knowledge assuming the average Temple 1L around the median with a decent resume? 

I just wanted to hopefully hear some experiences from people who know firsthand. Thanks a lot.

How much stock should I put on the average starting salaries that are reported to US news?

Probably not a lot.  Always make sure to find out the response rate to the survey.  If it isnt a good majority of the class then it is likely the statistics are skewed.
