I'm a 1L. I'm worried about the economy. That is all.

Scholarship conditions are an important thing to look at in deciding if it's worth it.

The other vital thing is that both of those schools are highly regional. That is, if he goes to Hamline, his (at least) first job will most likely/easily be found in Minnesota. Same goes for Marquette and Wisconsin. So it's important for him to choose where he most realistically wants to live for at least a few years after graduation.

Law School Applications / Re: Thoughts on the University of Maine?

If you want to stay in Maine, then yes. Don't bank on getting top whatever % and being able to go wherever else you want in the nation, unless you have really strong family ties, etc, in a certain legal community.

Start preparing for law school by dealing with a bad day the way that you will when you enter law school: Have a drink and watch something good.

Midterms are coming up this week and we have our first memo due next week, so I'm sure things will stay consistently busy, but I will try to keep this updated; if nothing else, I'll pass along some humorous comments from my Crim law teacher, such as this gem: "How much would you require to have both your legs cut off right now? ... $20 Million? ... Really? I've got a guy..."

Wait, still, what is better about these than using Word? I'm sure there's some sort of reason these are better than Word for law school.....but why?
