Choosing the Right Law School / W&L($) vs UGA($$)
« on: April 22, 2008, 08:31:36 PM »
Up until today I was pretty much set on attending W&L.  Today UGA offered me a pretty good scholarship package making the difference in cost between the two ~17K/year.  I really fell in love with W&L on my visit there, but 51K is quite a lot of money.  I will say that I would not hate ending up in Atlanta (where UGA sends the majority of their grads).  Any thoughts, is W&L worth the difference???

Not sending deposit to WUSTL ($25,000/yr).  Was a difficult decision until I visited St. Louis.

I cant quite figure UGA out, strange cycle from them (although it might be normal).  I get a kick out of this guy, http://www.lawschoolnumbers.com/display.php?user=gclemen1, who got into Emory with 90K but was waitlisted at UGA...

The only Faulkner grads I know are public defenders, so I am not sure about prosecutor jobs.

It has a questionable reputation in Alabama at best.  Even with the full scholarship I would be weary especially considering that it is the third best law school in a small legal market state.  It would be very difficult to get out of Alabama with a degree from Jones, however that is just my opinion.  Good luck.
