i'm not going to get talked out of law school but a message board.  i was here to just ask the question i asked.

 :)

believe me ... i am in no way delusional about getting into gulc - i know it's a reach  ;D

i am hoping that i can get in part time, my numbers are much closer on that side.  i read a quote from one of their admissions staff that said they got more apps last cycle than any other school in the country.  hello competition!

but i figure i might as well as try - the worst they can say is no and i'd be happy with just squeaking into the evening program!

thanks for your reply!

hi all -

did anyone here get into georgetown when they were in the low 25% or otherwise didn't have spectacular numbers?  perhaps you are a nontrad or wrote something cool in your ps?  i'm just wondering how the numbers/soft factors thing plays out. i figured someone over here might have a better reference than those of us waiting for responses from apps on the prelaw side.

thanks

breasts have been sexualized and that prevents people from seeing what their true function is:
TO FEED BABIES.

breast feeding is the most natural and healthy thing you can do for your baby. it is NOT a sexual act.  there is much research concerned with the benefits of breastfeeding - from natural immunities to normal emotional development to just plain old GOOD HEALTH.

i hope that one day i get to work on legislation to protect breastfeeding in public and to allow women more leniency for breast pumping at work and on planes (of course not in front of others - that IS asking a bit much! but there are many times when women are not allowed to take breast milk on planes etc.)

the comparison to cell phones is hardly relevant.  the cell phone user has a choice to take a call and at what volume their voice will be.  a hungry child is more likely to make noise when it's hungry than when it's being fed. further, you can LOOK AWAY if you just can't bear to see a baby nursing. i don't know if you've seen it, but it's about the LEAST sexual thing you can do with a boob.  seriously people, it's a big jiggly milk factory.  nothing to do with sexy.

Law School Applications / Re: George Washington Full Scholarship
« on: November 09, 2007, 12:26:47 PM »
i took my own advice and emailed the school.
so here it is for sure that ED acceptance means full ride.

To be clear, all applicants who are accepted through Early Decision program will receive a full-tuition scholarship automatically.

If you have any further questions, please let me know.

Best,

Where should I go next fall? / Re: Advice on school selection and GPA
« on: November 08, 2007, 07:08:48 PM »
you don't need to be an engineer to sit for the patent bar. my boyfriend does IP law and he took the patent bar.  his UG is english.

however, you can take the patent bar if you are NOT a jd if you ARE an engineer, thereby making you a patent agent.

if you have a jd, then you are an atty who is also a patent agent. you would be able to be a patent agent in any state without having to retake, as opposed to the regular bar.
