Please read the comments on this blog. It will show you why I do not want to be the type of person who would get into Boalt.
http://www.xoxohth.com/go.php?url=http%3A%2F%2Fboaltalk.blogspot.com%2F2005%2F03%2Ftragedy-hits-boalt-community.html

You'll notice I didn't say it was good. It _is_ good but I didn't say 'people want to go so Boalt is a good law school'. Don't put words into my mouth, please, or judge my analytical skills on your mishandling of information.
Perhaps rethink your logic: 'being a good fit with their program means I am equal to people who go to Boalt'. Not necessarily.
I think it's presumptuous of you to talk about first year curves but go ahead and be full of yourself.
I'm not arguing this anymore. I don't really care what you think.

Way to agrue. Simply calling someone a moron and saying Boalt is good because some idiots want to go there. It is obvious that with your analytical skills that you will be setting the curve in law school.

If Boalt accepted me with a high LSAT it would mean they believed I was a good fit for their program. However, being a good fit with their program means I am equal to people who go to Boalt, not a category I would want to be in. I believe you can follow the reverse of this very well. And for last time I applied to exactly five law schools, as you can see listed in my signiture line. Boalt is not there.

Braden _your_ comment makes no sense. How can getting rejected, high LSAT or not, be prestigious?
How can someone hope _not_ to be admitted, anywhere? The very idea seems to me to be idiotic. If you apply, that is your aim, regardless of whether you intend on attending. Why bother to 'hate' a school? There are many I wouldn't consider going to, I just don't understand how anyone can feel that emotion about a law school. Unless, of course, they _were_ rejected...
You are a moron. If you hate Boalt that much, just shut up about it and don't think about it or bother posting. There are plenty of other people who would love to go. I don't think the Boalt adcom is crying over you.

First, in case you did not know Ruskie is still around, she is Lil Token.

Second, your comment makes no sense. I was not bashing BoalTTT because I could not get in (maybe I would be admitted, maybe not personally I would hope not). I have hated Boalt for awhile. You also either do not understand my criteria for bashing Boalt or do not understand the term metric. I am not sure which.

Third, LSN data is worthless it is the actual data reported by the school (compare their actual median LSAT with the rest of the T14 not the self reporting LSN data).

I have to agree that Ruskiegirl was uber-annoying.

But I don't agree about the Boalt-bashing. I mean check out LSN as of today, it has a higher or (nearly) equal median LSAT compared to the entire upper half of the T14.

And Braden, you're clearly a moron. How much of an ass do you sound like by bashing Boalt as a "TTT" and not even being able to get in? That makes you dumber than Ruskie by your own metrics.

Happy Saturday!

While getting rejected by Boalt with a high lsat is prestigious, getting accepted would be a major blow to my current level of presitge.

what, might I respectfully ask, were you afriad of? Are acceptances really that scary? And with many people rejected with all the time with both high and lownumbers, any particular reason you seem confident you would have been accepted? Perhaps you can enlighten the rest of us.

I have said it before, and I will say it again, I did not apply to Boalt because I was afraid they might accept me.

Yeah, the whole "LSAT grading" of posts is horribly juvenile. They really are a pathetic bunch...

127. Probably good enough to get you into Boalt.

Funny.  It wasn't good enough for YOU.

Fotunately, for you and I, even if there were an adcom gestapo they would most likely look for liars and not just jerks.

BAHAHAHA TAG THIS THREAD IS IT!

I'm sorry guys you have me DYING....of laughter.  ;D

Ooh the Gestapo Adcoms are watching you! They are going to reject you. Give me break.
 ::)

I've said some really crude stuff on here. I'm not apologizing for it either. What happened to free speech people? It sounds to me like Big Tex made booboo regarding his URM status and that is why he freaked out. Other than that if you have nothing to hide, chill out. The only reason I took my picture down (way before this incident occurred) is b/c I was getting creepy stalkers.

Oh yeah (Gives the finger to Boalt) LMAO

I have a very difficult time believing that adcoms. who have thousands of applications to read, search the boards in order to match up profiles. I mean where would they even know to look?

Lesson to everyone: Stop posting all your business.

Oh yeah why did I get SEVEN PMS today from random folks apologizing? I donít care about you. I probably even forgot we had ďbeefĒ. Iím not going to call law schools on you so relax.

Merriam Webster's definition of hispanic:

of, relating to, or being a person of Latin American descent living in the U.S.; especially : one of Cuban, Mexican, or Puerto Rican origin.

Twarga, please read my post stating how Harvard asks the question. And tell me that someone who honestly thinks of themself as more hispanic (in any way) than white is lying to that question?
did you miss that word... I made it easier for you to catch

The relating to means relating to the noun the adjective is describing, like "This is a hispanic neighborhood."  It doesn't mean relating to like "I can relate, dude. Let's all be hispanic."

Big Tex lied and got caught.  He is a liar.  He tried to be slippery and write his "addendum" to cover his butt, but when he checked "hispanic" his file made it to a separate pile from the white applicants.  He got preferential treatment based on his lie, and as a person competing against Big Tex for a spot at Harvard, I'm outraged.  He's as white as me, and his application should not have any weight over mine because of his lie.

Please see page 2 of the Harvard application. The question asks "How would you describe yourself?" If Big Tex thinks of himself as hispanic, for this purpose he is hispanic. It is not a lie.

So there you have it.  Big Tex called himself hispanic on his apps, and got URM status as a result, even though he's as white as snow.  Heck yeah these schools are going to feel hoodwinked, and I, for one, don't think he's heard the last of this.... not that he'll ever tell us about it.  Even if things smooth over now, 3 years from now when the ABA goes through his apps and sees "hispanic" checked next to his name, he'll be feeling the heat again.  That would suck to owe over $100K in student loans and be barred from practicing for ethical reasons.

I am not a fan of BigTex, but I have no problem with him checking Hispanic. The forms clearly ask which group you most identify with, at least a large percentage of them do, and he probably honestly believes he identifies more with hispanics (because of his family) than whites (because of his skin color).
