South Texas / how is STCL?
« on: June 23, 2004, 05:00:18 PM »
I am thinking about going to STCL starting JAN 2005.  I have taken a few past LSAT's and scored in the range 157-160.  STCL is ranked 4th tier, is it really that bad? Would it be a waste of time going to STCL?

Where should I go next fall? / Re: W&L 1L Taking Questions

Leaps and bounds better than DePaul, Suffolk, Florida Coastal, Phoenix or Baltimore

How well does the school do in the Mid-Atlantic firms? I'm pretty sure that I don't want the stress of DC or NYC, but I want to be able to pay off my loans, so I'm thinking that I might want to end up in Raleigh, Charlotte, or Atlanta.

FB, sounds like it places really well in those areas, at least, going by previous posts on this thread (pg 19).

Good call. Thanks!

You are right, FB..I got a scholarship today for 10k/yr for the next 3 yrs...i didnt see a condition attached to it...What about urs? any conditions?

Nope. At the Open House they said that only scholarships over a certain amount had a condition attached to them, but even then they were pretty flexible. They said they want you to keep the scholarship.

Grats on the scholarship!

I thought they had forgotten about me at W&L. Today, I received an acceptance via email. No idea what this means for me right now...

Chris, you had $ to lure you from GW to W&L (along with the perks you mentioned previously). How long before you heard about $ from W&L. It's so close to the deposit date, I have no time to include them in my juggling of options.

I got an acceptance pdf email today too. No scholarships and their deadline is 4/16. It's too close for me as I am still wating for my top 2 schools to make a decision. I'm very confused... :(

When I got accepted two weeks ago, the scholarship email came the day after the acceptance email. Also, the scholarship was pretty small, and after talking to them, they aren't negotiating for more money - at least not for me.

Acceptances / Re: University of Minnesota - Deferred, Accepted
« on: March 24, 2008, 05:44:08 PM »
Anyone out there been accepted (waitlisted or rejected) yet after being deferred for Fall 2008?  My status page doesn't seem to be working, I'm deferred and still haven't heard anything. It's killing me to wait...

I got deferred and then accepted about a month later. 171, 2.X.

Greetings W&L asders,

Are any of you bringing your significant other to the ASD(03/28-29)?
I know guests are allowed(according to the ASD invitation), but is it normally acceptable to bring your gf/bf/wife/husband?

Just curious.
Best

I don't think it's that big of a deal to bring your SO. There have been a lot of SOs at the ASDs I've been to. Also, W&L just put up the schedule for this weekend's events, so you might want to check that out to see if it's something your SO wants to sit through.

I read somewhere that the date on Jin's gravestone is 9/22/04, the day the plane crashed. We know that he lived longer than that, so what do you think the misdated gravestone means?

I think I will sit in on the class too!

Class does sound better to me as well. I would rather take myself on a tour.

Is the schedule on the Admitted Students site?

Yeah. You click on the link to RSVP, and then there is another link to the schedule on that page.
