i go to school near boston and i must say, it was not what i expected when i came here (i expected a smaller nyc) but what it is is one of the greatest cities in the u.s. aside from the lack of chinese food and good pizza, boston is an amazing city and i think you will like it. it is clean, pretty, and doesnt have the crazy hustle of some other cities. i feel much more relaxed there, like you can just stroll through the city. but go visit for yourself!

see, this is what i like to hear! haha.

I've also never been to Boston. I'm from Montreal, so I expect a lot from a city. Thoughts?

i was quite impressed, not necessarily with the facilities, but with the professors and especially dean kagan. they seem to want to make learning law at harvard much more than just sitting in the library. it seems like it will be a exciting 3 years.

wow - it is very interesting to hear different people's perceptions of the weekend. i didnt find people to be pretentious at all. a little reserved perhaps, but that is to be expected because people arent always comfortable in situations like that. i found the intellectual environment to be quite stimulating as well as supportive. maybe you just caught a couple of bad apples?

disclaimer: ill be attending harvard in the fall

i dont want to attempt to make your decision for you, however after just having attended harvard's admit weekend, they just dont seem that competitive. true, there are the gunners, but the average student seems content with getting average grades, partying a lot, and knowing that with the harvard name they will still get an amazing job. so, if u choose based on money, go for it, but dont not choose harvard because you are afraid of the competition.

Both are rumored to be pretty competitive, but Harvard's competitive reputation isn't matched by very many other schools out there. Plus, I have a feeling that Harvard attracts the "Hah-vahd" type, if you get what I mean. Not that Columbia wouldn't, but probably on a much smaller scale. And it's in NEW YORK!!

Studying for the LSAT / December 99 test

Hi does anyone have the december 99 test answer key? I need the answer to question 22 on section 1. thanks so much!

3% is quite a lot if you think about it...if 100,000 take the lsat, a 3% decrease is 3,000 kids, or 300 or so less kids with a 165. If schools only accept around 700 or 800 people, 300 less with 165's can make a big difference, imo

i took ritalin for the LSAT and scored higher than I would have without it. However, I only recommend ritalin if you actually have ADD or a similar disorder. Without that, ritalin can have very weird effects on people. Even on me, i can't eat when I am taking it and I lose massive amts of weight, which is why i am switching to straterra (a non-stimulant).

In summary, I wouldnt take ritalin if you dont have a problem. If you think you may, it is worth it to get tested to know for sure. Ritalin totally changed my ability to work (which was nonexistent before) and it can work wonders if you need it.
