Current Law Students / Is your school "cut throat"?
« on: September 20, 2007, 04:04:38 AM »
I am still deciding which schools I'd like to apply to and one of my main concern is how cut-throat the students are.  Since you all are already in law school, please share your experiences.

--Is your school cut-throat or insanely competitive?
--Do people tear pages out of books in the library so you won't have access to them?
--Are students wiling to share notes with you if you miss class?
--Are students friendly?
--Do you have genuine friends at the law school?
--Any other things/experiences you may be willing to share.

Edit ---If you are willing, please state which school you attend.

Does anyone have an idea of what the starting salary would be for a major non-profit or advocacy organization, i.e. Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International, American Red Cross, ACLU, to name some.
Is there a list similar to the list for the BigLaw firms?

Are your choices of safety schools schools you wouldn't mind going to or did you select them for other reasons?

Is anyone studying or intending to pursue international law?  What schools have a good program and how is the curriculum?  What sort of internships are available in the area?

Some people here have mentioned that there are many things one can do with a law degree.  Can you please share what those opportunities are?
