Studying for the LSAT / Re: Downtown Los Angeles lsat tutors...
« on: April 05, 2008, 10:38:24 AM »
How far is OC from USC? If its not too far I will be willing to drive.

Are there any  UCLA/USC area tutors? Where should I look for them? Craigslist has nothing on lsat tutors.

Studying for the LSAT / My first diagnostic score
« on: September 26, 2007, 11:45:29 PM »
Background:Prior to taking diagnostic have read LGB, half of LRB, some RC's from Kaplan.
I was always afraid to take the full lsat, so i was taking only separate sections or even question/ problems. Today I went to a study room in my dorm and took the test. I took the XV test and scored 141.
My distribution by sections is
I section -13
II section-12
III section- 9
IV section-7

My theoretical goal was 165=<x<=170, which is necessary for me in order to go to a good school. Obviously, after this diagnostic my goal seems to be very unrealistic. What would you do if you were me? I just wanted to hear some opinions.

Studying for the LSAT / Re: "Ace the LSAT Logic Games"

I agree. This book sucks big time. Not only i found numerous logical mistakes the games in the book are poorly designed and quit often are very different from the LSAC's games.
I got my refund for the book. 8)

I am in desperate need of Russian practice.  :)

I have a question for people who's English is not their first language.  Could you share about your methods of overcoming the language barrier in conjunction with LSAT? For example, when I do the LG games  I tend to translate the whole game in Russian before I start solving it. Is there a way to overcome this problem. I know that this whole inter language translation thing is slowing me down significantly. Comments?
