Law School Applications / Re: Toby Stock Call Thread

I received an e-mail from Elena Kagan today. This was a form e-mail, right? I want to make sure that I don't reply to a form e-mail as if it were personal.

Yes, I got one of these too. (on the HLS email)

I don't have my binder handy... where does one go to check one's HLS e-mail? googling "harvard law school e-mail" solved that problem

I didn't get one (not sure if that proves anything one way or the other)

Just to clarify:  you applied last cycle, are attending USC and have withdrawn from all the other schools, and are only asking for validation?  Cause it seems a little late for cold feet.

That said, if you wanna do entertainment law in Hollywood, USC is the place to be.

No. Sorry for the confusion. I was accepted last cycle. I had a military commitment through Apr2008 so I was allowed to defer admission until Fall09. Just dragging my feet at The University of Texas taking B.S classes to pass the time. I meant that i'm pretty set on going to USC.

Were you able to differ admission at more than one school?  I didn't know that was possible, but it would be great if it is!

Call from Dean Tom today at like... 12:15 pacific time, good news from Berkeley.

Congratulations! You're the first Boalt acceptance I've seen this cycle.

Thanks!  A couple of others are popping up on LSN.

This is complete conjecture, but I'd bet that in this economic situation, schools with the endowments to do it will be better able to snag top students with fin. aid than they would be normally.  So I'd bet (/hope for selfish reasons) that they're more likely to throw money at kat than to yp her.

Is anyone else going a little nuts waiting to hear back from schools?

Does UMich not realize that by sending out acceptances on 11/13 last year they are now MORALLY OBLIGATED to do it on or before 11/13 this year?
