General Off-Topic Board / Re: Is law school a good investment these days?

In that case, maybe you should explain to us why Dennis is wrong and FSU is still a good investment.

Dennis is making the statement, burden of proof is on him in virtually all cases, as I think every 1L learns after about 2 days.

And besides, folks can see the same data I can.

But give me a general idea of what kind of data you're looking at.  Maybe I'll go look at it.

I think it's a pretty good standard personally.

Go look at the LSAC and NALP sites and look up FSU, you can see everything you like for yourself. We have had the best bar passage rate in FL for something like 5 of the last 6 administrations of the bar exam, we place better than any other school in FL, our cost of attendance is one of the lowest in the county (especially in a state capitol), we are in a state capitol (this brings about a lot of opportunity/perks), we have national name recognition and alumni in every state except SD, and we have the best helmet in college football as well as a great culture. I could go on, but that should suffice for now.

I don't think you will make ANYONE envious by claiming that living in Tallhassee is a perk...I mean that is a real stretch there captain. Football helmets are all fine and good and I guess you need to fall back on that when the team has not played a meanigful game in ~5 yrs. BTW, I don't doubt that FSU will do well in Tallahassee/Florida and be well worth your investment

You are, quite possibly, the most retarded poster I have ever addressed in any way.

Way to address the post, you do realize that the capitol complex resembles the way you are e*acting. I am assuming that this is all a procrastination technique, am I correct?

General Board / Re: Character & Fitness

I'm sorry to bring up such an old thread, but wanted to ask . . . I've had 6 tickets, all for speeding, 3 of them were 30+  over the speed limit which I believe is considered reckless driving.  I had to take a defensive driving course but never lost my license.  I do not remember if the fines were over $200 or not.  Is this a concern?  I haven't even applied for schools yet.

Thanks!

I would just go ahead and put it into a brief addendum to the schools you are applying to. It will make you quit worrying and it wont come back to haunt you for not "coming clean". It will not hurt you chances during the application cycle.

Law School Applications / Re: Florida State's website
« on: March 21, 2008, 11:14:59 AM »
I will be moving to Tallahassee for a year (not for LS) and have found that it must be a requirement that if your based in Tallahassee then your website MUST be terrible. After a little more research it looks as if the whole state is subject to this rule.

I got one of those, but I disclosed some minor non-traffic violations. I just had to send in a document from the court that had jurisdiction.

Like the others have said just call, they have been quite efficient and helpful with my situation.

Where should I go next fall? / Re: Religiously-Affiliated Law Schools

Is it true that if you graduate from Marquette that you are automatically accepted onto Wisconsin's BAR?  I heard this somewhere and just remembered it when you mentioned them.

As far as I know both UWisc and Marquette have this deal/privelage/demotivator/safe haven/perk

I was sent a Marquette lawyer magazine and on the cover was the Universities president in his priest getup...I must say that made me nervous.

Have fun in Whacko, or is it Waco I forget.

Also, does anyone have any first hand knowledge of Marquette and how religous its law school leans?

Thanks, man.  Still lovin' my Washburn, though.  They were named #4 oddest mascot by ESPN yesterday.

GO FIGHTIN' ICAHBOD's

and, sorry about the rejection at Colorado, you are in good company though ;)

What was the number 1 oddest mascot?
