Thanks! I was getting a bit worried when I got the "We've written you before" letters.

Black Law Student Discussion Board / "Ignoring" fee waivers and invitations
« on: December 12, 2007, 11:36:35 AM »
I registered with LSAC as a 2008 applicant. I've since decided to improve my numbers and work for one year, but I still keep getting letters, fee waivers, invitations to chat etc. from a range of schools. Of course I'm not literally ignoring them but do you think there are any negative consequences for not responding? Some letters from a few T30 even say "We sent you a letter a few months ago...."

Will they send out the same batch of mail when I take the test again?

Thanks so much for your insight.

Thanks...I didn't add the pt. about not being into the Teach For America track but...it's food for thought. Does anyone have any ideas that may be mutually lucrative and beneficial to the application/community...I know- it's like asking for perfection...lol :D

Black Law Student Discussion Board / One Year Only....HELP!!!

So I'm taking a year to improve my numbers, polish my apps, and obtain some work experience. Ideally, I will land a job in NYC where I want to attend LS, but-this is where you come in. In your opinion, what is the ideal (and strategic) short term work experience for a new graduate? A year of nonprofit service? Grinding as a legal assistant? I realize this post could spark some jokes, but your insight is GREATLY appreciated. ;)

Hey Nat :)

Jilli. did introduce us, but I was in ASAP so I guess I'm just going to have to wait until September to get the stipend. Thanks for the response though!

Just curious...has anyone from the ATL conference received a travel stipend?

Is it just me, or is the November 2 conference date too little too late for this season's applicants ???
