General Board / Re: Thomas Cooley vs. Nova Southeastern
« on: August 09, 2007, 09:16:45 PM »
You won't get "sjminflorida" to reveal a citation, though you have now asked him twice and he just keeps sputtering out sound bites like a broken juke box.  That's because his "facts" (cough cough) are from a website called ""  It's not a website dealing with academics, law school, or concerned about any legal topic what so ever.  It's actually a liberal pro-union site trying to rally people around a pointless cause to get Nova to allow it's workers to unionize.

A few posters have already read sjminflorida's posts on the school specific Nova site on this website - with much humor I might add.  You'll just have to ignore him.  If Nova registered all staff in a union, offered free parking to the AFL-CIO, had classes taught by union bosses, and endorsed Dennis Kucinich for president...sjminflorida would be singing their praises!!!

Alas, he's just another fanatic...  But for sheer entertainment purposes, please ask him to reveal his references again.  (*To save you the frustration after seeing his response, I'll just give it to you:

Oh, and to the guy who asked about Cooley vs. Nova, I personally don't care but would have to agree with the board's concensus so far and say Nova. prepared though.  I'm sure your future employers will ask why in the world you went to a school without unions!?!?  Not really.

I actually just found an apt. right across the street from campus.  I got lucky with location, though there were cheaper apartments further away.  Sorry i didn't check this earlier.   :(

I'm going to nova this fall.  I'm from Kentucky but have been working in DC for the past 2 and half years.  What about yourself?

Wait List / SLU Waitlist

Anyone have any news or updates who have been waitlisted at St. Louis University?  Please don't just "view" the question, take that extra step and make a comment.

Yep.  Worked at the White House for a few months and have been on the Hill for almost two years now.  I'm a Communications Director for a member.  Why?

I'll take that deal!  Ha Ha  Where I'm from in Kentucky, is only 2-3 hours to St. Louis.  Needless to say I grew up a Cards fan.  It would be sweet if I could get in.  Here's hoping...

And that's the million dollar question.  The admissions office wasn't clear and I was afraid to ask another question.  I'm still trying to figure out if people are getting letters back saying "you're on our waitlist" or "you're an alternate for admission" like I did.

Anybody willing to share?

Wait List / Waitlist at SLU

Anyone wait listed at SLU?  If so, do you plan on going there if they accept?  This is my second year applying since I deferred last year.  I was waitlisted all summer last year, but they sent me a letter (probably form letter) encouraging me to reapply this year if I was still interested.

Hang in there everyone.

I can't get over how helpful this site is.  Last year I applied to Miami (and a few other schools) and went the whole summer on the waitlist.  I started out like some of you, in the "hold" category until May when they moved me over to the waitlist.  I deferred at the school I ended up accepting and am trying again this year.  I think they were impressed that I reapplied, since they put me as an "alternate" this time immediately.  Is that the classification you guys are getting:  alternate?  ...or are they saying waitlist?  I talked with admissions and they said that alternate was much higher than hold, but who knows what categories are above alternate?

Anyone have insight?  Good luck to all!
