In my mind, these two LR questions have to be wrong in the answer key that im using....what do you guys think???
It is more desirable to have some form of socialized medicine than a system of medical care relying on the private sector. Socialized medicine is more broadly accessible than is a private sector system. In addition, since countries with socialized medicine have a lower infant moratlity rate than do countries with a system relying entirely on the private sector, socialized medicine seems to be technologically superior.
which one of the following best indicates a flaw in the argument about the technological superiority of socialized medicine?
A. The lower infant mortality rate might be due to the systems's allowing greater access to medical care.
B. There is no necessary connection between the economic system of socialism and technological achievement.
cde are horrible...
I chose A, TCR was B, but there doesnt HAVE to be a necessary connection between socialism (broad, we were talking about socialized medicine) and technology, am i way off??
#2 It is proposed to introduce mosquitos into the wild with genetic alterations that destroy their disease carrying capacity. In this way the dangerous wild population could eventually be replaced by a harmless one without leaving room for another disease-transmitting strain to flourish. One candidate gene would interfere with the mosquitos' finding mates; another would cause the destrustion of a disease parasite before the stage at which it could be transmitted; another would disable the mechanism of the mosquito's own resistance to disease, so that it would die before transmitting the diesase.
which one of the following identifies a discrepancy in the proposal above?
A. It is presupposed that all three genes would prove equally easy to isolate and insert into the cells of mosquitos.
B. Two of the proposed ways of destroying disease carrying capacity in the wild mosquito population would jeopardize the goal of the proposal.
CDE are jokes again
TCR is A, I chose B....Isnt A completely irrelevant?
Since these 2 were consecutive, im thinking that they were supposed to be listed "A, B" in the answer key but were incorrectly reversed into "B, A"...but then again, i could be wrong on all counts.....
