I just checked out BU law's class of 2010 and a little over half the student come from Ivy league and other Top 25 undergrads.  Anybody feeling the pressure of the step up in competition? I feel it a little but that's because I went to an Ivy league school for graduate school and experienced the competition.  But if I didn't I'd be a lot more nervous.

Of course, kicking someone's ass is actionable and if you got arrested you would have to updates your apps...

Seriously, though, your odds at Hastings did not seem all that good to me, no offense.  It sounds like you took the rejection pretty hard but why?  At those odds you were ALMOST as likely to get rejected as accepted, right?

Nah I'm fine with it.  I just wanted to know why when so many others with my stats or lower got in.  I've already been accepted to two higher ranked schools so I suppose I expected to get accepted to Hastings

Your lacking ability to understand simple terms and concepts is likely related to your ding at Hastings.

My understanding is great thank you.  Say something worthwhile or don't post your retarded comments at all.  Is that why you have over 1200 posts because you have nothing better to do with your life?

So you understand that you were not dinged by "your safety"?

There is no clear cut definition of a safety.  To be clear when I mean safety I meant to say I should of had a very good chance of acceptance based on my numbers. Hastings should have been one of the easiest to gain acceptance of the schools I've applied

Btw what is with "tough" guys and assholes in forums?  Just because they hide behind a computer they act without any manners?  Maybe it is to make up for something they lack in real life hmm....I would like them to say it to someone's face and get their ass kicked.

I got my rejection from Hastings where I had a greater than 50% chance of acceptance based on lsac calculations.  My stats were 165 + 3.44, soft: Masters in engineering. I applied after I got my dec scores.  I feel shocked and angry why I was rejected.  The worst part is they won't tell you why. And I'm coming up with all sorts of reasons.  Maybe they want more diversity and less Asians with a technical background?  If that was a reason maybe they should put a disclaimer so I won't waste my money at that school.

Where should I go next fall? / Re: BU Law taking questions

Cost of living is fairly high because the school is located in the city. Boston has a very high cost of living and what you get for what you pay is very poor compared to some other cities. This is likely caused by the large student population in the city. But we have a good nightlife in boston, and great sports teams. Most students live in the Brighton/Allston area.

I would like to add that if you don't mind a little commute(~45 min) you can live in Malden.  I pay 1050 a month and it close to the Malden T-Station

BU has been rising in the ranks. Do you guys think it will maintain its high rank for a long time?
