I will start looking at laptops. Are you running vista on it? Btw did I type "typer"? is that a word?..lol long day at work. Hopefully first year of law school is not as bad..(I wish)

See my edit above for some additional info.  Yeah, I have Vista on the x61s temporarily.  Left it at the default Vista Home option because I can get XP Pro from my school for little $$.  Vista is ok.  I prefer XP.

this site is a good place to start looking at reviews:

www.notebookreview.com

(or its sister site www.tabletpcreview.com )

I will probably stick with XP. that's what I have on my home computer. Thanks for the links!

HELP! I have been researching on the internet for a good tablet pc. At this point I am so confused as to which one to get.

Have you narrowed it down at all?  To which models?

Plus, why a tablet?

I figure taking notes on the tablet will be better than writing on paper. I am not a fast typer. I have looked at the Lenovo Thinkpad x61 and the Toshiba M400 S4034 but there are so many more out there  Fujitsu, gateway, hp, motion computing, etc...or maybe I should just forget about it and go with a dell laptop. At least I can bargain for a good price with the dell sales reps

I can't imagine writing on the screen would be any faster than typing, even for a slow typist.

The x61 and m400 both have very good reviews.  If you're set on a tablet, either would do the trick.  (Just to add, I have the non-tablet x61s... so far it's the best laptop I've ever owned).

Law School Applications / UNC or IUB- HELP!
« on: May 16, 2007, 08:56:02 AM »
I was accepted to UNC with a 5k scholarship per year plus I qualify for instate tuition. I just got accepted to Indiana University-Bloomington with a full out of state tuition scholarship. If I don't get into Vandy :'( :'(, these will be the two schools I will consider attending, which is a better choice? thanks for the help.

Is this even worth it?

I hope you are going to a good school.  If you aren't, you will be asking yourself this question many times over the next 3 years.  The economic investment is huge when you factor in the lost earning potential.  The available returns are negligible if you don't meet certain criteria such as being top 15-20% with law review membership or otherwise attending a T-14.

who started this T-14 craze?
