The firm as 8-9 attorneys.  It is located in Orange County, CA.  It is a civil litigation/insurance defense firm that handles general liability, etc.  The monthly billable is 185.  What is the typical salary range for a 5th year associate in  a firm like this in CA?  Thanks

I think I'll just spend (about the same amount of time) on a journal

I recommend JOLT.

Hi bass, I'm quite interested in JOLT.  What's the expected workload?

So do other sections have this ban on laptops in class or is it only section 7?  So far, Torts, Civ. Pro, Contracts, and LRW have all banned use of laptops in class (well, LRW allows use for in-class assignments).  No word on Admin law yet, but this appears to be a general "rule" for section 7|

Laptop policy
Pursuant to the Section 7 policy, we will not use laptops during lecture/discussion periods.  But you may use your laptop for in-class writing and research exercises.

Well I got my schedule, only 1 8:45 class all week and out by 1:30 every Friday. ;D

<~~ class starts at 11am every day Mon-Thurs.  No class on Fri  8)

Damn! I'm jealous.  My schedule has more holes in it than swiss cheese.  Oh.. and I have 8:30 AM classes 3 days a week, never out before 2:30PM.  >:(

Hey, Pink!  Can't remember if I asked you, but when are you getting back to Boston?

Hey Nat,

Sorry for the late response.  I'm already in Boston, but I'm away for the next week.  I'll def. get in touch when I return.

Hello all.  Sorry I've been MIA for a while - work's been crazy.  So I've gotta represent the HLS Class of 2011 (so doesn't sound as cool as 2010).  Quick question for all of you who've gone through the off-campus housing search.  I'm going to be living off-campus, with boyfriend and dog.  When would you recommend I start looking for housing (I've never done so way in advance and don't quite know how that works).  Would you recommend I go with a broker (I hear it's pretty common on the East Coast).  Thanks!

I believe this policy has been revised to allow pets if you "register" them.  Check with Affiliated Housing to be certain.

That's right - you can't waive the student health fee, only the extra insurance. I wasn't able to waive the BCBS but I've never had to use it - the student health fee covers most everything you'll ever need on a day to day basis.

I don't really understand this.  So, even if you have health insurance that includes a prescription drug benefit and routine medical care, you cannot waive the health fees?

Awww, I just got all excited for ya'll starting law school in the fall!! I remember being in the exact same place last year - trying to figure out loans, computers, etc - just take it from me - it'll all be fine! You're going to love HLS.

If you have questions, let me know!

Hi Lauren, when it comes to computers, what wins out for most people, 14-inch screen or 12-inch screen?
