no one is arguing that FIU is even close to UF or FSU Law. my only point is that the goal is to achieve that status whether it takes 5, 10 or 20 years. fact is that we have a solid faculty, stringent admissions standards for a new school and it only costs 8K a year to go to law school in miami. hopefully, the rankings and accolades will follow down the road.
No, but people (FSUGeoff) are arguing that in-state, UM=FIU. What a joke. The truth is, the vast majority of people going to FIU are people that couldn't get into UF, FSU, Miami, and yes, even Stetson. I try to refrain from bashing schools, but come on. FIU UG as well respected as UF and FSU?
also, i will bet my life on it that everyone that is in the first year class of FIU also got into Nova and St. Thomas if they applied there.
This is where the FIU argument makes sense... these are the peer schools and you can certainly make a great case for FIU over either of these. For anyone to suggest that FIU is regarded even close to the level of the big 3 (or even Stetson) is a crock.
