Where should I go next fall? / Re: Does engineering degree matter?

I would say 166 for an engineering major is pretty impressive considering you beat out many liberal arts majors who read more than you.  Engineering major will definitely help you get in, but it's another story in school because you'll soon realize that those who can write well (e.g. English majors) have a huge advantage over engineers because most exams are essays.

Don't let the "hotness" of the IP field fool you, if you go to a non T-14 school, you still need to finish at the top of your class.

It seems that a lot of my friends who become a paralegal ended up hating law and that was good because they would have wasted 3 years and a whole lotta money if they didn't do the paralegal work and went straight to law school.

How is this even a choice? I strongly feel that Cardozo is on a totally different level than Seton Hall.  I would go with Cardozo all the way.

Have u seen the surrounding area of Seton Hall (Namely Newark!)?

Newark versus NYC is like Night and Day.  After dark, Newark is not a safe place to be while Greenwich Village (where Cardozo and NYU are located at) is one of the best neighborhoods in America.
Seton Hall doesn't place that well in NYC compared to Cardozo.  You can easily rent a place in Jersey City and commute to Cardozo so you don't need to live in Manhattan.
