hi all,

just wanted to drop a quick hi - i know i haven't been very active lately but i just moved most of my things to philly and managed so scrounge up a respectable amount of furniture.Although i won't do my final move in until the 17th, but let me tell you it is extremely hot and humid in philly right now and hopefully it will ease off a bit in the next few weeks as y'all start to move in.

i found this neat little secondhand furniture store that delivers and has some decent furniture for cheap, so if y'all want some information on that, PM me.

good luck to you all

hey mantis, i think we are living in the same area (if i am judging correctly from your proximity to capeiora :) )

and hello everyone, i am not at home yet, and, like tiki, i am looking forward to coming home to a huge batch of penn mail.

Yay!  I hope so.. I think I may be a little farther downtown than you, though...  I'm excited for all of the big urban arts opportunities -- including Capieora -- but my day-to-day needs run more in the gastronomic vein.  I was talking about Capogiro gelato on 20th.  :)

Anyway, it seems like we have a fairly even divide between UC and CC.  I'm not thrilled about paying the biggest rent I've ever paid, but it seems worth it to be able to walk to Trader Joes.

oh haha, i totally misspelled capogiro. For some reason, i always come up with caperiora.

and things could be worse rent-wise, you could be in san fran or nyc, or even boston.

and see yall in the fall and if anyone wants to talk cow with me, feel free to do so, i just spent a week in cattle country.

Where should I go next fall? / Re: Did I make a wrong decision?
« on: June 22, 2007, 02:08:00 PM »
first of all, CONGRATS!

and second of all, have faith in your decision. There's a bunch of reasons why you could have gone to NYU, but that's also true of NW. Both are excellent schools. Also, if you don't really want to score a HUGE biglaw job in NYC (which i'm guessing you don't because of your apparent dislike of NY Metro area), you didn't lose anything by going to NW. Hey, you can buy a house earlier! NW has an excellent firm placement rate, so its not a school to be scoffed at.

General Off-Topic Board / Re: Should I get my nose pierced again?

it sounds like you're going the subtle route, which is always good in a professsional environment. I'm actually afraid that my outrageous taste in earrings will screw me over in interviews (but i love big earrings so much!)

i digress. My sis is in medical school and she goes to rounds everyday and she has a very nice little stud in her nose and it's a non-issue. For some reason i think the medical profession as even more conservative (style-wise) than law, so i figure you're safe.

that said, a huge nose pericing might be pushing it.

i have a mac and i hate word's notetaking...i like my notes neat. for some reason, formatting in word is really really strange for bullet-points.

i'm going to try out omninote or whatever it's called to see if it's good enoough, if not, i'm going to buy some professional stuff...i suppose.

i've always handwritten notes before so this will take some using to for me. oy.

was it just me or did the penn student use IM a LOT?

legalapp, you might be able to help out on this one - does any Penn teacher forbid laptops in the classroom?

welcome, PennIsSweet (i actually misread it the first time that i read your user name, so you might want to rethink the capitalization, but whatever :) )

you might want to try the facebook group to find roomates as well...there's not that much roaring activity on lsd from penn people because a lot of them are off gallivanting around in exotic lands...
