I wanted to ask the same question basically.

My trip would be one night (sat to sun) in early october. I could work all night friday and most of the evening on sunday... but it would totally cut out sat. and put a huge dent in my weekend as far as studying goes.

Any advice.

I really dont know.

I was surprised that all 1L's dont take all the same classes... my roommate has contracts and not property.

the class reads "property 6" or legal writing 5 and 6"... whichever number is in all your classes is the section you are in I am assuming.

Choosing the Right Law School / Re: Withdrawal Etiquette
« on: July 15, 2007, 06:15:58 PM »
I drafted a single letter stating that I was withdrawing from the school but that I was grateful that I had been accepted and wished them luck with their current applicant pool. I signed the letters and snail mailed them. I figured, you never know what can happen and if I ever wanted to attend their school for any reason, they could look back and see that I had been courteous and professional in all my previous correspondence with them. Also, they accepted me... so why would I be rude to them?

It took 20 minutes total of my time to withdraw from all the schools... in the grand scheme of this whole admissions process that is nothing at all.

Good Luck

I just received my X61s today... it had an estimated ship date of 7/19... I really love it... it is nice and small, and weighs almost nothing which is great for trekking it around NYC with me. I am upgrading from a T40, so alot of the things are similar, but I am getting used to not having a touchpad and a smaller backspace key... they are the only negatives I can find. I did upgrade to an 8 cell battery, which sticks out in the back, but it doesnt bother me and still keeps it light. I also ordered an ultrabase with a cd rom drive in case I need to load any software... i figured it would be easier that way. I havent tried the ultrabase yet, but it is also very thin and light and shouldnt take up much space on a desk. I upgraded alot of the specs, because I like a fast computer and I had the shareholders discount anyway (Thanks Dad!!!).

One more negative... only one USB drive on the side... the battery covers anything on the back, alot of times I had a printer and flash drive connected at the same time on the T40... now I will have to make sure I save everything to the computer and then plug in the printer... not the biggest deal in the world... just another step.

I went looking for a very light computer with a good battery life, as I thought that would be the most important thing for law school... I think I found that in the X61s and I think I will be glad I made that decision once I have to start carrying this thing around with a load of casebooks.

Feel free to ask any specific questions now that I have this thing in front of me.

It does seem off.

It put Fordham into the "safe bet" category for me which I think is too optimisitic, I mean I got in but I think it was more of a competitive school then a safe bet.

Also it puts HYS into my reach category, right above my safe bets... I know for sure I CANT reach that

Its okay to look at, but I wouldnt base my apps off of it.

Choosing the Right Law School / Re: Cardozo $$$ vs Fordham p/t

I would probably take Dozo with the money.

Very wierd though, I got waitlisted at Dozo and in to Fordham FT. Just shows how subjective this whole process is.
