What grade and percentage do I need? Will top 30% be sufficient?

General Board / Re: practicing law as a non-U.S. citizen

You have to leave the country for a full year and then come back. Otherwise you won't have another 6 years of H1.

I am an Indian male, will finish 6 years on H1 next year and I'll start law school, if accepted, after having already finished 6 years on H1.

Does anyone know if I can convert from H1 [7th year extension] to F1? If yes, then after the F1, can I get a new H1 with new 6 year timeframe? Thanks in advance.

Same here, summer waitlisted. I will soon withdraw.

I was wondering whether they have admitted enough students -- lsn shows only 12 will attend. Maybe they deferred too many people from last year?

Shortened Summer Waitlist here as well.

Just checked and the website is down.

I might call to find out ...

Just checked -- I was also waitlisted without receiving an e-mail.

Everyone should log on and check.

My patience is wearing out ...

Law School Applications / Re: Choosing a private loan lender
« on: May 01, 2007, 04:14:00 PM »
Hi, I think federal loan is better and does not go up with interest rates.

Can you tell me which private lender this is? The ones I used have much higher rates (like 8.1%).

I'll read it/comment tomorrow morning if you want to send it over!
Just PMed you.

I hope to send it tomorrow. Anyone???

Thanks a lot!

This is very helpful.

Thanks Jessy!
I addressed mine to the admission officer who signed my waitlist letter (e.g. Director of Admissions, whatnot), using "Dear Mr./Ms. So-and-so".

I started the letter with: "I am writing to you in regards to my status on the [School Name] School of Law waitlist for the 2007-2008 academic year.  I would like to reiterate my sincere interest in the [School Name] School of Law..."  And so on and so forth...

Not bad. I will probably use that for W&M who yield-protected me.
Dear law school:

I like you. Do you like me? Circle one:
