Current Law Students / Basic Civ Pro Help
« on: November 27, 2007, 05:38:19 PM »
Does anyone know where to get a good visual explanation(flowchart) or similar for basic personal jurisdiction.  I'm attempting to make one myself but would like some help starting.  Thanks.

Current Law Students / Re: Whose Your Favorite Supreme Court Justice?

Past Justice Curtis for his enlightening dissent in the Dred Scott case.

Scalia, because he writes with a simplicity that even I can understand, I guess I agree with him a little too.

Current Law Students / Indemnity, Indemnity v. Contribution
« on: November 08, 2007, 05:21:30 PM »
Can someone explain how exactly indemnity works and the difference between it and contribution.  Thanks in advance.

botbot what i was attempting to convey was the notion that receiving a 4.0 should be given equal weight no matter what the instituion. this is a fallacy.

Getting a 3.5 at an Ivy League school is definitely not the same as getting a 4.0 at Sister Mary's School for the Dumb, Deaf and Blind. (I didn't want to name any institutions, but everyone knows what I'm saying).  Getting rid of the GPA is a great idea.

Thanks for the responses.  I was just attempting to set a timetable as far as when I should begin to make a final decision.  I'm quite flexible and could wait around quite awhile, so hopefully that will help me out.  Thanks again.

Do things start to pick up a little more, as far as acceptances and getting off of waitlists in April when many seat deposits are due?

Was Pepperdine's jump from 87 to 66 the largest?  Well done Waves.

Choosing the Right Law School / Re: how do you withdraw?

You can send e-mails or do so over the phone, I imagine form letters also if you want to spend that much time. I just withdrew from about five schools today and did so by just sending e-mails to the admissions people who incessantly sent me e-mails.
