I think U.S. news is far worse for undergrads than for law schools. It's pretty absurd to try to rank the U.S. Air Force Academy against Reed College.
At least with law schools, they are teaching the same basic curriculum. 2

That guide doesn't work that well on the margins. It gives someone with a 180/4.0 slightly better than a 50/50 chance at penn. Someone like that is an autoadmit at Penn- probably with big scolarship money.

Whatever you do, don't go into significant debt for any of those schools. But keep in mind that many scholarship offers are intended to be revoked. They set GPA conditions that 2/3 of the scholarship offerees won't meet.

You will get in everywhere except Yale and Stanford. Maybe in off the waitlist at one of those two.

As a general rule, planing on practicing entertainment law from any law school (save perhaps Harvard/Yale/Stanford) without any contacts in the industry is a fool's errand. The quality of the educational program is irrelevant if it does not lead to a job in the field.
Do you want to be a lawyer or an entertainment lawyer? If only the latter, I would reconsider. 7

Houston biglaw is at 160.

If you haven't read the article already, this should be taken into consideration:

CUNY will get you a similar education and similar job prospects for less than half the price (and it's no harder to get into). Even then, I would avoid the NYC market unless you have burning personal reasons to live in NYC. It's an extremely oversaturated market. 10

Really, only people who go to T14 (and do well there) are likely to come out making 160k. The valedictorian at CUNY would be lucky to get a 160k job.
At a T3/T4, most graduates are lucky to get any job as a lawyer. That said, a small handful get really lucky and do very well starting their own firms. |
