april i see on LSN you have decided to apply to 9 schools all in the t14 so you must have either "gotten a clue" about ur chances or u r just another insecure person who needs people on an internet message board to tell u how great u r that u got a 172 on ur lsat and tried to mask this by acting like u didn't kno ur chances and needed people to tell u ur chances

Wow, this got way out of control.  I'm just looking for my law school chances here.  Yes it may be weird to have no idea, but no one in my family has gone to law school (few have even made it to college) and few of my friends are going to professional school.  And with the few that are pursuing med or law school, I don't want to be "that guy" that tries to compare scores.  So basically I am stuck with you guys on the internet.  Please help me!

no one in my family has even gone to college and none of my friends are going to professional school and i still had an idea of my chances through research before i found LSD...you sound lazy or you fooled princeton into thinking you're smart for 4 years

and another thing....how do people know that their recommendations are EXCELLENT....was i the only one who signed the waiver to not see them??? i see way to many people claim their recs are stellar and it makes no sense to me

Wow, accuse people of being dumb, and then make a statement that betrays the fact that you didn't read (or at least, didn't understand with any sort of precision) the waiver you signed. The waiver does not say you aren't allowed to see your recs.

The general LSDAS recommendation letter form has two options: to not waive your right to see the letter, or to waive your right to see the letter...

Waiving your right to see your letters is completely different from signing a waiver 'not to see them', which was the point of my post. Many people see their letters before they go out, and some even write them and give them to their recommenders as a starting-point.

the bottom line: you 100% absolutely waive ur right to see the letter...it's common courtesy and let's ur recommenders know you trust them to portray you in a good light...you don't need to see the letter if you did a good job picking recommenders you trust and know will write a good letter
