Hello. My name is Josh. I'll be a 1L at USD come August. The fact that Scalia and others of his caliber come to USD to speak/teach influenced my decision to attend. Are there any other USD 1Ls-to-be at this LSD board? If so, please introduce yourself.

Studying for the LSAT / Re: LR Help« on: August 08, 2007, 02:14:46 PM »In experiments in which certain kinds of bacteria were placed in a generous supply of nutrients, the populations of bacteria grew rapidly and genetic mutations occurred at random in the populations. these experiments show that all gentic mutuation is random. If A is true, and for the sake of answering the question we assume so, then a single case like that provided in the story above where genetic mutations occur at random means it is false that no mutations are random which means it must be true that all mutations are random. Said otherwise, answer A sets up a dilemma. The stimulus eliminates one of the horns of the dilemma that A sets up (i.e., no mutations are random) which implies the other horn (i.e., all mutations are random) must obtain. 9

Studying for the LSAT / Re: i am 32 yrs now, should i go to study law? plus,i am a minority« on: August 08, 2007, 10:22:58 AM »
1. I am 29. I am going to school as a way to start a second career more compatible with my strengths/interests. I don't see why your age should be a barrier.
2. Do you plan to go to a school that teaches and tests in English? If so, how well you write/think in English will likely affect your grades. 3. I have a mortgage, a wife, three kids, am quitting my job in two days, will have no/minimal income in the months/years to come and will attend a rather expensive private school. I am taking out loans and may need to eventually sell an investment property to make it all work out. Whether or not you can afford to go to school depends on your financial outlook, which you've yet to describe in even general terms. |
