Hopefully some of you are still reading this board.  I need some advice.  My cousin just scored really low on the ACT.  Since I am not doing anything until school starts I am going to help him study a bit.  I didn't study for the ACT so I don't know which study books would be helpful.  Do any of you know what would be best?  I'm already getting The Real ACT Prep Guide because it contains three real tests.  I'm looking for another supplement like Kaplan or Princeton Review.  Thanks for your help.

It's been a long time, but I always liked Princeton Review's prep materials for SAT/ACT.  Accessible, funny (at times), and helpful.  And yes, I did take the ACT.

Lonewolf, you choose UVA over Columbia. Thats great. C ville is very nice place to spend next three years. Just to let you know, U hts may not be walking distance.

It's not much further than Ivy...other side of Ivy Road.  15 minute walk, less on a bike.

I sent Lenovo a letter laying out my situation and explaining my frustration.  This is what I got back:

       Dear [pastor of muppets],

Thank you for contacting Lenovo, the makers of ThinkPad
       and ThinkCentre PC products.

We are in receipt of your e-mail regarding the shipment
       date of your ThinkPad T61.

For further assistance, you may contact our Lenovo
Customer Service at 1-866-428-4465.  The hours of
operation are from Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 7:00
p.m. EST.  A representative will be able to assist you.

Thank you for visiting our site and contacting Lenovo.

Screw 'em.  If they are this unhelpful when I'm trying to buy something from them, I can't imagine they will be of much use when I need repairs or technical help.

Okay seriously.  I haven't even gotten a confirmation on my email.  I really hate to cancel the order, but I'll feel like a doormat if I don't.

There is hope people!!  I just received two (2) identical emails:

Dear Customer,

Thank you for choosing Lenovo!

All or part of your order has shipped. In some instances your order may be shipped from more than one location, which will result in multiple notifications. You will only be invoiced for products that have shipped.

BLAH BLAH BLAH...I wonder if its really true or if its another "glitch" in their system.  My credit card has not yet been charged yet.

When and what did you order?

I just sent the below email to Lenovo sales.  Will post any response I receive.  I am pretty angry.

Re: Order XXXXX

I ordered a T61 laptop on May 24th with an estimated ship date in early June (Order XXXXX).  Upon receiving the confirmation email, the ship date was backdated to late August.  It is currently showing up as 8/28 on the order status page, as it has now for several weeks.  Twice, I have called Lenovo's customer support call center to discuss my order, and both times I was told that engineers are working hard to fix the shipdate error and that the laptop would ship "soon."  In both cases, I waited nearly an hour to talk to a support representative.

Tomorrow marks three weeks since I ordered my laptop, which I originally expected to have in my possession by now.  At the time, I was excited to order it, particularly because of the great promotions Lenovo was running over Memorial Day.  That excitement has melted into frustration and now anger as my order continues to show an 8/28 ship date, I have received NO communication from Lenovo representatives, and I hear reports that others who ordered laptops AFTER me are receiving their laptops.  I have been patient, because I believe Thinkpads are great products, and I'd still prefer to receive the laptop I configured.  However, my patience is wearing thin, and my opinion of Lenovo is falling by the day.

If this situation is not resolved in short order and/or Lenovo representatives do not sufficiently respond to this email, I will have no choice but to cancel my order and take my business elsewhere.  I recognize that my situation is likely not unique, but there can be no excuse for the complete lack of communication to your customers about these delays.  I look forward to your response.
