Law School Applications / Re: T25 vs. top 10% in T26 - 50

UF is ranked higher still...47 vs 52...also look at the reputation scores...

FSU gives a person an evenmore uphill fight for getting biglaw in Atlanta and Miami than UF does...(In fact honestly Miami has a better alumni network than FSU).

FSU has better LSAT averages from last year only...i bet this year UF will trump FSU...UF's entering class is at least 40ish smaller than 2006 and everybody who got into UF got into FSU, (the reverse does not hold true.)

Good point about the CJA stuff but i find it hard to beleive that criminal in miami is that tough...it jus might require opening an office in south broward or north dade and serving all three counties...

Where should I go next fall? / Re: Best schools for Atlanta biglaw?

Emory places well in ATL but if your median, its still tough to get 100+...im sure those who apply to mostly NY/DC and have a negative attitude about staying in ATlanta dont do well but those who are committed can do it...

i think UGA and Emory are looked on as essentially equivelent in ATL, UGA might have a bigger alumni network and is more resonably priced while Emory is in Atlanta...

I'm getting pretty confident that UF does fine there too since they've placed more in atlanta recently...

Montana Holding Corporation still needs criminal defense attorneys...

but seriously I live in pretty much a TTT city in Florida (No offices of V100 or Am200 period) and the criminal lawyers still make a killing

remember in order to qualify for a public defender you need to make about poverty level...

so if your middle class (and im talking normal middle class (40-50ish)  there is no way you can qualify unless you default on your home...

people still need to be defended from DUIs

and actually unless you inherit a bunch of clients the best way is to work in the state attorney's office for 2-3 years and then move over to private practice...
