General Board / Re: How much time required?« on: July 19, 2006, 08:19:54 PM »
I'm a (single) parent of two young children, and I'm about to start law school. However, I went through undergrad as a non-trad (I just graduated in May), and so I feel like I may be more prepared for the type of study schedule v. parental commitments dilemmas that will inevitably crop up. Also, I chose a school close to my family so they can help out. Another thing you should think of is how competitive the school is. I chose the least competitive of the two schools in the area where I wanted to be. If I were you, I'd go and visit Az. State and see what the students have to say about the atmosphere and the amount of time each day they put in. I bet if you contacted admissions they may pass your email along to one of their students who is also a parent. From what I've found, the admissions staff are always willing to help you out. They do want you at their school, after all!

Where should I go next fall? / Re: 1.2 GPA, 131 LSAT« on: October 25, 2006, 08:59:21 PM »I think you might be reaching a tad high. Dartmouth and Princeton might be a better fit for your numbers, especially if you have no soft factors. On a side note, I'm really disappointed that my school is no longer a T1, according to Cooley. 5
General Off-Topic Board / Re: for those that have started law school« on: October 04, 2006, 08:03:49 PM »clicky, like HS, but everyone is VERY quiet in class, and afraid to talk. My experience is that is is cliquey, but there's people that aren't afraid to talk. A lot of them.. And they're all pretty f-ing stupid. It's always the stupid people that talk - either they say something way off base, or they repeat what the prof just said so they can pretend they know something. 6

Studying for the LSAT / Re: a REAL song :)« on: September 23, 2006, 03:49:38 PM »
Bump.
It's almost that time again. So over the summer, I had a lot of free time. So I would send weekly updates to a bunch of friends via email. And at the end I would add a rewritten song to match something that happened that week. 8
Law School Applications / Re: Undergraduate school question« on: September 06, 2006, 09:05:18 PM »
No, it's not going to matter that much. Both those schools are fine. If you went to some no-name diploma mill you might be in trouble, but I doubt that it will work against you much, if at all.

Law School Applications / Re: Will schools take into account a disparity in LSDAS/Degree GPA?« on: September 04, 2006, 06:11:53 PM »
I don't know of any others, sorry.
I did a quick search here on LSD, and came up with: I think Seattle U uses your degree GPA to calculate the admission index as well. I saw it on LSAC; linked to it from my transcript report. A more extensive search might find more. I hope that's helpful. I don't know much about the schools on your list, but I bet if you called them and asked they'd be more than happy to tell you about their admissions procedure. 10
Law School Applications / Re: Pass/No Pass« on: September 04, 2006, 01:33:52 PM »
Probably depends what the class is. My undergrad required certain classes to be pass/fail, and I don't think it adversely affected my applications.
