Does anyone know any good areas to live in near campus? I am here for another week and am hoping to find a place before I go back to California?

Great Snowy - welcome :)

Our class section info should be mailed sometime in the next 10 days - can't wait!

Oingo

Thanks Oingo Boingo! I am looking forward to starting school, although I'm a little nervous about the Minnesota winters, since I'm from California. I came to the Twin Cities to do CLEO at William Mitchell and got a very sweet offer from St. Thomas that changed all of my plans.

Wait List / Re: Notre Dame "provisional list"
« on: June 26, 2006, 05:16:15 PM »
I know and I am sorry.  I was also heart broken to here that. I am actually almost certain that I am going to defer and reapply next time around, that's how bad I want to go to Notre Dame. I know we all do. Best of luck to all of you, and I still have hope that at least a few of us waitlisted will get in.

She told me they received too many acceptances and are oversubscribed. I mentioned recruitment because law schools come to CLEO to recruit students and that is what I was asking her about when she told me the class is full. Its by all means not a concrete answer, there is still over a month before school begins so its still possible that some of those admitted students might withdraw, but the way she made it seem it is not very likely.

Oh, I think I understand now... Schools recruit minorities and low-income students from CLEO. And I assume you basically asked if they were going to be recruiting for this coming fall?
In which she responded that they had too many students enrolled and will not even be going to the waitlist.

My confusion came from me being under the impression that you were recruiting students for CLEO.

Yes, that's correct. I am a CLEO student who is also on the ND waitlist.

I spoke to Dean O'Hara and she said that they do not plan to take anyone else off the waitlist.

When was that?

I spoke to her a few days ago. I am doing CLEO and several schools have come here to recruit students. I emailed the Dean to ask if they would be coming and her words were that they are "oversubscribed" and won't be going to the waitlist.

I didn't think Notre Dame HAD a second seat deposit. Hmmm...So is that due June 1st? and how do we know they expect to pull a lot from the lists??

oh,yes--the domino effect will start soon. just wait for harvard et al to start pulling off their lists; then we'll have a better idea

I don't think they have a 2nd deposit deadline. I think they're probably waiting for other schools 2nd deposit deadlines.
