Isn't a 2.97 really bad for a T14? Most T14 schools have a very high median ... generally around 3.2.

General Board / Re: mediocre GPA/rank but on law review« on: July 16, 2007, 12:31:48 PM »If i have a mediocre GPA and rank (just outside of the top third) but i'm in at law review, what do my job prospects look like if i'm applying for biglaw? i know a lot of these firms prefer law review/journal but they also want a high GPA/rank. Is anyone in the same situation or know of anyone with a similar problem? You can graduate dead last in your class at Harvard and still be employable. 4

Which clearly doesn't speak to the question of why the rollie is necessary for a part time student who has at most, 2 classes on any given day.

Yes this is sort of the Belmont Stakes in the triple crown of being as annoying as possible. I have the great honor of taking a night time summer class with alot of non-traditional 1L's. My classroom neighbor may be the worst ever. 6

(and then repeating what the professor just said). And spilling that Dr. Pepper and NOT cleaning it up. We're you raised in a barn? I witnessed such a transgression. 7
General Board / Re: Whats the most annoying thing a 1L can do?« on: July 12, 2007, 11:54:23 AM »I'm still trying to figure out why so many people are annoyed by roll bags. I have one because I refuse to hurt my back; attempting to carry all of your law-school books on your back is quite stupid, if you ask me. Are you full time or part time? If you work full time I think it's safe to assume that you go to school part time. As a part time student, do you have 4 or 5 classes per semester? I would think 4, but maybe 5 including a writing class or some sort. Do you have all these classes in one day? If the answer is yes, I can understand why you would carry all your books at once, but I believe the answer to this question is no. If you're going to school on a day when you have say crim and torts...what good are your civil procedure and contract text books? The rollie-bag is indicative of weakness and/or old-ness. Both qualities are frowned upon in law school. 8
General Board / Re: what bag has worked for you?« on: July 06, 2007, 04:27:19 PM »Please don't be the person with the rolly bag who rolls over everyone's feet. Second. I contemplated an SBA run with a very simple platform: "Execute those with rollie-bags." To the OP: any standard backpack with a laptop sleeve will be fine. Lockers are fine, but the backpack is your friend. 9
General Board / Re: Let Online Grads Sit for the Bar: Concord University Law School and Others« on: July 03, 2007, 09:44:35 AM »I have experience in brick and mortar education and with online education. I am about to begin studies at Concord University Online Law School, my 4th graduate degree, and am very enthusiastic about what I have already observed with regards to the results-based online education. This is correct. The problem lies in the fact that Concord has much less stringent admission requirements than ABA schools. Because of that fact, Concord attracts alot of people who are unable to even gain admission to an ABA school. It is likely that the people that "attend" Concord and do well would have performed similarly at an ABA school. However, these people that attend Concord and do well are the exception and not the rule. They attend because of very special circumstances that are unrelated to their cognitive capabilities. This leaves us with the overwhelming majority of students at Concord who are essentially subpar. Sad but true. Don't believe me? Check their bar passage rate. I honestly believe that one day Concord and others like it will be on par with most ABA schools outside the very elite institutions. That is not currently the case. 10
