Oh sorry about that. In the first paragraph, I was talking about private loans.

I'm deciding between Citibank and AccessGroup myself. Right now, I think Citibank's best rate is lower than AccessGroup's best rate. I don't think you know what rate you'll get until after you apply, though, so I don't know if that helps. I've read more favorable things about the LIBOR, so I'm leaning towards AccessGroup.
Citibank's Stafford incentives do seem the best. But if I decide to go with AccessGroup for private, I'd probably use them for Stafford as well for convenience. Are we able to apply for loans yet? I thought we were supposed to get something from the FinAid office first before we start. 3

July 1, I'm pretty sure. Although that's a Saturday, so maybe June 30 to be safe?

Wait List / Re: Waitlisted at Columbia« on: June 12, 2006, 11:21:19 PM »On a side note, didn't realize there were so many Chicagoans on the thread. What's up with this cold weather? It's the middle of June, for christssake! I was born and raised here, so I know better than to complain I'm just incredulous at having to turn the heat back on. You're totally right, though... better this than 100+ heat indexes!

Yeah, I knew I was running a risk being this specific, but I DEFINITELY didn't want to get assigned to a place that was too small or too expensive for me and the SO.
Any natives have suggestions on the best way to apartment hunt in NYC? I know there are a couple of existing threads on this topic, which I will try to dig up, but any advice would be appreciated. ETA: Thanks, Tiwaz! I've gotten used to waitlists by now, so it's not too disappointing ![]() 9

Dang... I just got waitlisted for housing. I thought I'd be done with waitlists by now!
![]() Not sure if it's because I applied for family housing, didn't want an alternative assignment, or both. Guess I better start apartment hunting. Anyone else get the WL? 10

Nice to meet another CardinalLooking at all the NYU forms reminded me that I should join this roll call. Hey everyone!hi, fentrex. you and i are in the same position re, waitlists. are you a stanford alum? anyway, welcome! Harvard, yes. Columbia, not sure. Don't know what happened with the Harvard call. I still don't think the calls had an evaluative purpose, so I don't think we did anything wrong necessarily. Maybe the admissions office decided that mindf*cking some of their applicants this year would be good for a laugh ![]() In any case, I think NYU will be more fun to go to ... at least that's what I'm telling myself. ![]() |
