So I think I'm going to actually get a new phone. Should I get one of those smart phones? I'm trying to determine if I'll actually use it for the internet...
Anyone I know who has internet on their phone is ALWAYS on their phone. I've resisted the temptation even though it'd be helpful to have.
Yes, this is largely true and really bothers me. When people are out and about with other people in person/in public that's supposed to be time to interact and socialize with people face to face, not a time to be cruising the internet except maybe to quickly check a map or something.
I think it's very rude to be hanging out with others and sit there and click away on a device while ignoring those around you.
Over last weekend I spent some time in a hotel with my Ex GF to TRY to work some things out. Over the course of 3 days she wasted most of the time in the room (we pretty much stayed in the room the whole time except when getting food) ignoring me and playing with her phones (yes, 3 of them at the time) and her laptop cruising the net with the wireless access the hotel provided. I felt invisible and ignored and was ready to throw all the devices over the balcony, instead I just kept unplugging the chargers/power connections to get her to actually talk to me.
Given my internet and tech addiction, there is a reason I refuse to have a smart phone or anything of the sort and do not even have a working cell phone at the moment. When I leave the house, part of the reason is to get away from computers and the internet and to just spend some time living in the physical world socializing with live breathing human beings face to face, call me old fashioned!
Happy T-day all.
Some women's attention spans are fleeting. You should tell her that she needs a time out from the gadgets: they will age you. They also drain on the personality. Once in a while it is good to have a cyber/silicon detox. Good luck
I took some time to get away from the machines and won quite a bit of money gambling. Life is good.
